Sam’s Pick – Feed My Paws Mooncakes

Time flies and the Mid-Autumn Festival is back again! Wheeeeeee….. And the most important thing for this festival is of course… MOONCAKES! Knowing how much I enjoyed my mooncakes last year, Mummy decided to get me some again! Plus, we wanted Pecan ah ma to try it too. We were rather spoilt for choices as there were multiple online dog bakeries that were selling them!  But to give support and thank Auntie Crsytle for feeding our tiny tummies with tons of treats (check out our review here to find out what we stuffed ourselves silly with), we went with… *drum rolls* FEED MY PAWS MOONCAKES!! With so many yummy favorites to choose from, Mummy decided to go ahead and order the pack of SIX. It includes a mixture of savory [Beefy Cheese & Porky Cheese] and snowskin moon cakes [Durian Diva, Berry Bumbum & Pinky-Taro]. Don’t they just look so good? PS: Can you spot Pecan ah ma’s drool stains on the couch! #howcomeoldwomandroolomuchone #sounglam  Doing the sniff test to make sure they smell as …

Our pet monkeys!

Both me and Pecan ah ma have a fondness for a certain animal – Primates! So, knowing that, Mummy decided to buy each of us a pet monkey toy!  Hee, but although we are siblings, we do have very contrasting taste in the types of toys we desire.  Can you tell which is mine and which is ah ma’s? (Left: Latex Monkey Toy from Fetch-box.com, Right: Safari BraidZ Monkey from Kong) If you’ve been following ah ma’s obsession, it will be an easy breezy guess. Yap, Santa, the latex monkey toy, is Pecan’s while Mon-Mon, the stuffie is mine! Pecan ah ma is really mean to her toys.  Not only does she lick them with her stinky sweet saliva (*shrugs*), she even steps on them! #resignedmonkey I certainly wouldn’t wanna be him! #Santahasasuckylife I treat my toys wayyyy better. I usually just hold Mon-Mon in my mouth, shake the hell out of him and tear him apart little by little (I always start with the ears), I mean, play with him. See I so nice …

Made with Love – Dehydrated treats!!

The weekends came and left… but we ain’t complaining…because, Mummy spent it making yummy dehydrated treats for the two of us! (Hehe, and there are plenty of leftovers for the whole week!) Anyway, we were extremely excited when Mummy told us what she had installed for us! To begin with, she started by swinging by the supermarket to buy some fresh meat, which includes chicken gizzards, lean pork, sliced chicken fillet, pork and chicken liver! She took some time out to slice them evenly.  The lean pork and liver sliced easily! But Mummy had a little trouble slicing up the chicken fillet the previous time, so she decided to get pre-sliced ones instead. They are a little thicker, thus require a longer time to dehydrate.  Anyway, a tip from my mother-in-law, Auntie Charmaine: freezing the meat slightly will make it easier and firmer to slice! Once the prep work was done, Mummy simply put the trays in position and got the dehydrator working! Mummy got the Open Country Pet treat maker from Amazon when we …

JRM’s 12th Anniversary Party!

Mummy and Daddy brought me to Jack Russell Mania‘s 12th Anniversary Party over the weekend! Unfortunately, we had to leave the grumpy old lady, Pecan. But oh well, I promised her that I’ve twice the fun just for her. Hehehehe… The event was held at Toa Payoh South Community Club. It was quite a contrast from last year which was at West Coast Park. Though I very much prefer to run on grass, our parents were quite glad that at least I would go home mud and more importably, tick free. Oh well….  Thankfully there was plenty of space and once my parents let me off-leash…  zoooooommmm… #youcannotcatchme I was having so much fun running around that my little ears agreed too! Sam the Jack Russell Curl! The thoughtful organizers even set aside a paddling pool for the pooches to cool off! Too bad for me, my parents only allowed me to have a quick soak before they chased me away. Wonder why? Hehehe, I have a history of peeing in waddle pools since my NYC …

Our PET Tags

Mummy got her hands on new pet tags for us! “Put it on for me please, MUMMY!” Me and Pecan looking great in our new collars and tags. In case you’re wondering what’s so good about the tags and why we have the same exact tag….  there is something really interesting and special about these two tags… They are actually Smart Phone Enabled Pet (PET) Tag! These PET tags are made with a microchip inside each of them. The amazing thing is that it is the only digital tag in the world that can be scanned using an Android based mobile phone, using the NFC function! So if either me or Pecan ah ma got lost in the streets and you see us, all you have to do is lure us over with a treat (Aiya, very easy one..we are both greedy pigs), switch on the NFC and put the tag beside the phone. A preset customized text linked to a phone number will be reflected on the message function of your phone instantly. Once …

Sam’s Day Out – Happenstance Cafe

It’s been a while since we had a Sam’s day out! For a change, my parents decided to leave Pecan ah ma at home and spend a long nice day with me. Yap, just me! Hooooray~ Of course we had to take the opportunity to visit a new Sam-welcomed venue, the Happenstance cafe! This time round, we also asked a special guest and his family to join us for our brunch quest! (You’ll find out who shortly!) We arrived seconds before opening hours, so we had to hang around the fence for a while. And when the doors opened, I couldn’t wait to explore the cafe! Located along Opal Crescent, it’s hard to believe from the outside that this is actually a pet-friendly cafe. For a change, rather than the typical washed-out/Ikea-ish decor that many pet cafes have, Happenstance has a clean industrial vibe that is up Mummy’s alley. (She couldn’t stop staring at the brick wall -_-) It could easy pass off one of the up-and-coming cafe that the hipster crowd would love. A …

Tiny apples

Auntie Lynne is a super darling!  Because…. she bought us two smallie apples!!!! It was the first time we ever saw apples that were this small! Mummy was really amused while we were just a little unsure. I mean the apples are so tiny that we didn’t even think it was real! On the contrary, we actually mistook our apple stuffie for being the real thing. #stupidJRTs Since I’ve always been Auntie Lynne’s favorite dog, I thought I could get my way and claim ownership of both the apples. HEHEHE. Of course, my ‘fantasy’ did not last long.  At all. Within seconds, Pecan has creeped beside me and successfully took one from me. BOOOOOOO~ #mylifesucks Oh well, at least I still have one all to myself. We were really fascinated by the smallie apples! They are so small that they were almost the same size as Pecan’s paws! I swear that I could also gobble down the whole thing in just one bite! I wasn’t convinced that it was the real thing at all and …

Our ohpopdog collar!

Our parents abandoned us and spent a weekend on their own.  So when they came back with a paper bag for us, we instantly forgave them for leaving us behind for a movie date. We had really high hopes for whatever was in the bag.  Granted that it was a little flat to be filled with treats, but with a logo of a Frenchie and a name like ohpopdog, things can’t go that wrong right? Maybe it’s thin prata for dogs? #hopingforthebest So I took a couple of investigative sniffs… And to my utter disappointment…there was nothing edible in it! #mylifesucks #myparentsabandonedmeanddidnotevenhavethedecencytobuymesometreats By now, I was so sian that I didn’t even bother to pose for Mummy anymore. On the other hand, Pecan, being the senile silly ah ma, decided to remain hopeful and continued to smile. #spoilmarket In case you’re wondering what’s in it, it’s actually a handmade bow tie collar by local dog-wear designer, ohpopdog! Actually, Mummy has been following the brand for a while (at Public Garden Fleas) and has always wanted …

Sam’s Pick: A Dog’s Life Salon

Dearest Mummy took an off day on a lovely weekday last week.  And we were overjoyed to be able to sleep in on a Tuesday and were anticipating that we would be going somewhere fun with Mummy for the entire day. Just when we couldn’t wait to find out what’s up next, we sensed that something was not right as Mummy wouldn’t stop making us pose in various positions. (And that felt awfully familiar) And that rang a bell…. *den den den den* Nooooooooooo~ Yap, we were 101% right. Our little bubble burst.  #resigned #mylifesucks #mummyishorrible Well, in a way, Mummy did surprise us a little.  Instead of our usual salon, she brought us to A dog’s life pet salon that is located at Tiong Bahru.  So atas~ Now we are officially hipster dogs too! When we saw the exterior, we definitely had to give it a paws up for its decor!  Who wouldn’t love a “Dog Parking’ section outside a store? In fact, it’s brilliant! Except that we can’t park ah ma there.  She will …

Sam’s Pick – Feed My Paws Treats~

When Auntie Crystle from Feed My Paws dropped us an email asking if we were keen to review her handmade treats, we just couldn’t say no! I mean, who in the right mind would say no to anything edible?! Not us for sure… She was really awesome and asked us to pick whatever we wanted. So, we spent the entire evening glancing through the website (drooling while doing so) and pointed at EVERY SINGLE ITEM. Seeing how greedy we were, Mummy sighed and proceeded to let Auntie Crystle decide what she wants us to try. Booooooooooo~ Mummy sucks! As we don’t have any allergies and would eat anything that comes our way, Auntie Crystle offered to let us sample some of her bestsellers. (Fret not if you suffer from any food allergies as you can customize your very own treats using ingredients that you can eat!) And when the treats arrived at home, we could not believe our eyes! There were so many yummy looking snacks JUST FOR US!!! *Wriggly dance* #soimpressed We were so …
