September 14 2015 was a special day. It was the day that the ancient one (aka Pecan ah ma) turned TWELVE. #omg #whatahugenumber #icanonlycounttoten As usual, birthdays in the Loo Lim Household are a big thing. Well, kinda, only if you’re the beloved furkids. The parents get zilch celebration. #spoiltbrats So, it was party mood all week! Sam tested: Ohiyo Pets

We were very honoured to be invited by Auntie QY to test out a basic grooming session at Ohiyo Pets. And seriously, the invite couldn’t come at a better time.  We were a week away from our family photoshoot and cheapo Mummy was just about to groom us herself. #lifesaver  So, thank you Ohiyo Pets for this timely invitation!! #cannotimaginehowwewilllookifmummygroomedusherself #disasterevaded #phew “Oi, some privacy please?” #stupidmummy Opened in May this year, Ohiyo Pets is located at 3 South Buona Vista Road (around Pasir Panjang). Our family photoshoot

While our parents ain’t really the phototaking/selfie kinda people, Mummy insists on a family photoshoot tradition.  This means that with the addition of a new family member, there must be a photoshoot. When our parents got hitched, they did one. When they got the absolutely adorable world cutest me, we did one in NYC. So now that we’ve ah ma, it’s time for yet another one. #musthurrydobeforeahmaXXX #choy Mummy and Daddy hired Uncle Terry from One Eye Click for their pre-wedding and actual day shoot. She was so pleased with the experience that she knew instantly that she wanted Terry to photograph our future milestones.  In fact, she was super tempted to fly him to NYC for our shoot there. Of course stingy Daddy put a stop to it. #mustprotecthisownpocketma Instead, Mummy found an amazing photographer, Auntie Melissa to do it. Cushion us!

We all know Mummy is kinda obsessed with us. #thatisanunderstatementlor And I’m sure if she can choose, she would keep us on the couch as decor. #wetoocutela #wemakethebesthomeaccents Plus, she wants to be able to hug us day and night… #omgnojustno But we all know it’s impossible. Mummy first saw this illustrator on Dog-Milk and immediately wanted one, i mean two.  She had always wanted a pillow version of us and did go as far as to print a silk-screen version of me. However, she realised that the end product is highly dependent on the quality of the photo. And since she is a sucky photographer, of course it didn’t turn out very well. Hence, these cushions from Kara Burke are a win-win. Doggie Workout with K9FITbone

A recent visit to the vet confirmed Mummy’s fears… Pecan ah ma’s body isn’t quite keeping up. #sheis12yearsoldnot12monthsoldma  While it isn’t falling apart just yet, her joints are starting to display signs of stiffness. #abouttimela The vet advised Mummy to minimise Pecan’s climbing of stairs and unnecessary jumping. Plus, should she show any signs of tiredness or reluctance to walk when we’re out, we should allow her to rest. #idothatallthetimehowcomemummystillmakemewalk #lifenofair Other than that, we were also sent home with the first of many bottles of glucosamine. To be honest, Pecan is really an energetic ah ma and she is way more active than I am. #iamnotlazy #iamjustchill In addition, Mummy has done a couple of steps to keep her active and healthy. A Fuzzy Sleepover

It’s been a while since we did something fun in our lives. To spice our boring lives up a little, Mummy decided to throw us a sleepover party! Hence, she asked us to invite our friends to join us. But hor, we don’t really have many friends. #nothankstopecan #myfriendsareinNYC #weemocosoursleepoverlookspossiblyboring Oh well, so we decided to make do and invited our three FuzzYard troublemaker friends! Say hi to Electra the Unicorn, Aussie Shoo and Sushi the Fish. Since it’s a party, it was a must to wear hats. #theunicornnohatcosthehorntoohigh We spent our whole evening chilling and chatting about our lives. Pet-friendly: Everything with Fries

If you’re a long time reader cum fan of *ahem* yours truly, you would’ve noticed that since Pecan ah ma joined our family we have ceased our pet-friendly cafe outings. #thickskinsam #scarlygotnolongtimereaderstheninoface #donttellme It is because Pecan has a bit of a barrier frustration.  Which means she has the tendency to react by barking and lunging when she is unable to interact with the object of interest (be it another dog or human). This happens especially when she is on leash. Hence, alfresco dining where dogs will be tied to the table (as opposed to a pet cafe where we will be off-leashed) ain’t exactly suitable for dogs like her. #sotroublesomecan  We’ve been working on her barrier frustration and are really pleased with her progress. #shegotbetterbutigotworse #shemusthavespreadittome Despite that, Mummy is still rather hesitant to bring us to pet-friendly cafes… That was until they walked passed… Everything with Fries at Holland Village. Quickie Art and Craft

Jack Russell Mania (JRM) is turning 13 this July. #cannotbelievegotthingsolderthantheancientpecan To get us ready for the exciting celebrations, Mummy ordered two JRM bandanas just for us. #ithinkiwearitbetterthanher #shhhhhdonttellherIsaidthat Okay okay, I think we both look pretty cool in it.  However, once we take it off, we won’t able to differentiate which belong to who.  #ifIwearwronghow #hersissmellyleh #cosshesuredroolonit  So, we attempted to mark our own bandanas with our own saliva. #spotourlittletongues #howhygienichor Thankfully the crafty (pun intended) Mummy had something up her sleeves. It was a real quick fix.  All she used were Martha Stewart stencils, satin paint, a sponge brush and a plastic container. And viola~ our very own customised bandanas. Not only does it look (and smell) good, it took Mummy less than five minutes.  #quickieartandcraft Doing an arty farty shot with them.  #showingoff #cannotissit Now people will know who we are when we attend the upcoming celebrations. Dog-friendly staycation at the Regent

So I admit.  I’ve been experiencing some sort of a writer’s block.  That clearly explains the lack of post in the recent weeks. #dontgiveuponme #thewriterinmeneedsabreakla To help me recharge and re-gather my creative juices, our parents decided to check us into a dog-friendly hotel for a short getaway. Wheeeeeee….. This time… they chose The Regent Singapore for our dog-friendly staycation! The Regent Singapore allows up to two dogs per room, with a combined weight of not exceeding 35kg 15kg. (APOLOGIES: We initially thought that it was 35kg as that was mentioned to us by the staff whom we spoke to over the phone. The kind people from Regent’s PR team dropped us an email to clarify that the weight limit is actually 15kg instead. Sorry about that!) #blurmummy #mybad Oh oh, best part of all, there isn’t any additional charges for having a pet (as cute as me) in the room. #daddy’spocketissmiling Check-in was easy breezy. So our fish craving is back and we just couldn’t resist checking our Fuzzyard pet fish, Sushi, out.  Not in a good way in case you’re wondering. #nowondermummynowanttogetusapethamster #nopetissafeinthishousehold Of course, Sushi was pretty much sweating it out. #hownottopanicwhenyouhavetwohungrydogsstaringatyou And as usual, our dearest Mummy came to his (and our tummies’) rescue by announcing that she has delectable fish treats for us. Wheeeeeeeeeee…. #mummyisdabest Okay la, we shall leave you alone Sushi….for now. HEHEHEHEEHHEEH What she didn’t mention, however, was that I had to put on the hideous fish head for the shoot.
