Behind the scenes…

What can I say, we are certainly two very photogenic pooches. #bhb Of course, while the images that made it to the blog were carefully selected (Mummy has to make sure that they always portray the best of us), it’s what goes on behind the scenes that never fails to crack her up. Even if it’s at my expense. sigh~ We usually start with a normal shot. Before ah ma decides that it’s fun to creep closer… And closer.  Nope. In case you thought that I jumped off the shot, look closer. Yap, Pecan thought that it was fun to not only steal my limelight, but to step all over me instead. Of course, I wouldn’t take it lying down. As soon as the two shots were snapped, I fought back. RAWRRRRRR~ After she enjoyed a good long laugh, Mummy stepped in (while still giggling!!) to console me and with tons a fair amount of treats, I decided to hop back on the chair to give Mummy one final shot. Ah ma is clearly my …

Pecan’s BFF!

Pecan ah ma has a new best friend.  And it isn’t me! *Hengs man~* #phew #NEVERFELTSORELIEVED Can you imagine me having to engage in some granny talk with the grumpy old lady?!  (Like which veggie is the freshest, why are my boobs sagging.) OMG.  *Shrugs* Thankfully, I am NOT her best friend.  Her new best friend… is actually.. DONUT! Yap. It was the toy that Mummy bought ah ma to cheer her up during her recovery. While Mummy knew Pecan loves squeaky toys, she certainly wasn’t expecting ah ma’s obsession to her new Ferplast toy. In fact, obsession is an understatement man.  Pecan ah ma is literally glued to Donut. And everywhere ah ma goes, Donut follows.  That includes our daily walks.  She just has to bring Donut EVERYWHERE! Ah ma also refuses to let it go at all times during the walk. Not even when she’s peeing!!!! How can you pee with something in your mouth?!?!!? #unbelievable The truth is.. it’s a little paiseh (embarrassing) for me. Since Ah ma started bringing Donut for …

It’s time for a celebration!!!!

Nope…  It’s not our birthdays.. It’s just that Mummy received news that allowed her to finally heave a sigh of relief.. Yap.  Pecan’s biopsy came back clear!  So in other words, this feisty ah ma is here to stay!!!!! That also means I’ll be stuck with her for a while more… NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~

Sam’s Pick – Feed My Paws Treats~

When Auntie Crystle from Feed My Paws dropped us an email asking if we were keen to review her handmade treats, we just couldn’t say no! I mean, who in the right mind would say no to anything edible?! Not us for sure… She was really awesome and asked us to pick whatever we wanted. So, we spent the entire evening glancing through the website (drooling while doing so) and pointed at EVERY SINGLE ITEM. Seeing how greedy we were, Mummy sighed and proceeded to let Auntie Crystle decide what she wants us to try. Booooooooooo~ Mummy sucks! As we don’t have any allergies and would eat anything that comes our way, Auntie Crystle offered to let us sample some of her bestsellers. (Fret not if you suffer from any food allergies as you can customize your very own treats using ingredients that you can eat!) And when the treats arrived at home, we could not believe our eyes! There were so many yummy looking snacks JUST FOR US!!! *Wriggly dance* #soimpressed We were so …

Pecan’s little quirks….

We usually try to keep our blog posts light-hearted and cheery.  I mean, that’s pretty much how our lives are. But occasionally, there will be certain dog-related encounters that pisses Mummy off (but again, a lot of things pisses that lady off.) and get her really upset. One such incident happened during our night walk today and we just felt the need to mention it here…. For those who have met me and Mummy at doggy events (Thanks for saying hi!!!), one of the most common questions I get is: “Where’s Pecan ah ma?” Don’t let her cute (PUI~) little face deceive you.  Unlike me, Pecan ah ma is actually not dog-friendly, at all. While she is the sweetest little thing to humans (even to annoying kids), she cannot handle the sight of another dog.  Things weren’t easy from the start. Since bringing ah ma home with us, Mummy and Daddy had to deal with the endless little squabbles that happened between us which usually ended with me screaming like a girl. We fought at …

Must love Jacks…

Every time someone asks Mummy about why she decided on Jack Russells out of the many breeds, she would let out a resigned sigh, take a deep breath and express regret. Then, she would start ranting about our countless antics, e.g. too hyper, feisty, small-dog-syndrome, blah blah blah.  What la~ So not fair right? JRTs are the best breed ever lor.  So to our defense, let me and Pecan ah ma tell you what an awesome breed we are. To begin with, we are super intelligent. So smart so that we can do things on command. Mummy: “Smile Sam~” Sam: “Ay ay~” We can even nod in agreement with your philosophical views. We have the best begging faces. So please don’t bother saying no to us. Wahahahhaha.. We live life and know the best ways to distress. Such as by having a drink or two. (FYI, I’m legal k. I’m four doggie years old, which equates to 28 in human years!) OR  simply sleeping our lives away on our nice cushion… though we secretly prefer …

Hiking with dogs @ Hort Park!

We’re just a little over the Green Corridor. I mean, how not to when you visit it 3 times in less than one month.  Hence, Mummy decided to explore something different. So, we went to… the Hort Park! We invited a special friend to come along today.  While waiting for him, we stood around and stalked the koi fish. Introducing our playmate for the day – Keyser!  Hee, while it’s not the first time he is on my blog, it is his virgin feature in Singapore! Yaps, Keyser is my best bro from NYC! We’ve been best buddies (he even came for a stay over) when we were in the Big Apple. He came back six months after I did and this is the second time we caught up with each other! Mummy was a little concerned about how ah ma would react around Keyser.  But to everyone’s surprise, the two of them didn’t give a hoot about each other and that worked out great! Within minutes (they did scream at each other for a …

Our Yoghurt beards..

Mummy had some leftover yoghurt and she decided to give us some. It was the best thing EVER!! We licked and licked and licked and licked… so much so that we actually ended up with… YOGHURT BEARDS! After wayy too soon, we had licked the cup sparkingly clean. We really couldn’t be bothered with what Mummy was laughing non-stop at. (Crazy woman) We just wanted more yoghurt! We did what we do best: put on our begging puppy eyes.  We even added some lip-smacking actions to up our begging powers. After way too long, (and our crazy mummy still laughing) I came to realise that there was nothing left. Booooooooo~ Pecan ah ma naively continued trying (she tried really hard too) and me, well, just my usual pissed off face. “Why you buy so little?!” Booooo~ WE WANT MORE YOGHURT!!!

Cartoon Pecan!

Pecan’s portrait finally made its way from my homeland (USA) to Singapore! And Mummy was really delighted to see it! The proud ah-ma showing off her cartoon version! Of course I cannot lose,  so here’s a photo of adorable me and my even more adorable cartoon portrait. hmph~ Ain’t we cute? Somehow ah-ma decides that her best angle is her right profile.  I don’t quite agree but she wasn’t very receptive to my suggestion.  Anyway, as promised, Mummy went ahead and made magnets using ah ma’s drawing. So, here’s her and her magnets and a distracting strand of hair belonging to Daddy on the floor.  #mummyneedstosweepmoreoften Spot us on the fridge! Mummy’s planning to frame our portraits together and hang them on the wall. Can’t wait to see the outcome!

It’s a Doggie Pool Party!

Mummy chipped in with Auntie Charmaine (aka my mother-in-law) and bought us a… PADDLE POOL! It’s actually meant for kids but it works great for dogs too!  *Wriggly dance* Auntie Charmaine had wanted to get one for her boys, Snowy the Golden Retriever and Jager the Alusky! So, Mummy, thinking that it was a brilliant idea, decided to share the cost. Plus, Auntie Charmaine has a lovely front garden that had ample space for the pool! It certainly reminded me of the good old NYC dog park days where we got a lovely dog pool each summer to combat the heat! Hence, I was wayyy over the moon when Mummy told me what was happening! Auntie C, ya the best! Let’s get the party started!! It took the adults about ten minutes to assemble it and probably another ten to fill the pool.  Pecan ah ma was the first to realise what was going on and certainly couldn’t hide her excitement. In fact, she was so excited about it then she happily hopped in even …
