It’s Pecan’s birthday!

Yap, the crazy old woman Empress Dowager turned ELEVEN! In other words, she is technically 60 years old! You know what? Ah ma is actually eligible for the Senior Citizen Concession Card liao! #sheisasoldasgrandmummy It’s unbelievable how old she is.  I mean…. she’s almost THRICE my age and she’s like a energizer bunny! #howcanshebesoold #oldahmastillwannaactyoung Since it was her birthday, of course Mummy had awesome surprises in store for her! Mummy was actually debating whether to throw ah ma a party and invite our doggy friends over. But wait…what doggy friends? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tons of furry buds.  #cannothelpthatIampopular But Ah ma? ERm…. let’s just say she isn’t really a dog-dog.  So to avoid a scenario where we spent $$$ and there’s only me and ah ma (and maybe Snowy) dancing around in an empty cafe, Mummy quickly decided that we should just celebrate this special day ourselves!  And who says we can’t have fun on our own? Here’s how the special day unfolds.. For a start, what’s a birthday party without a …

Made with Love – Dehydrated treats!!

The weekends came and left… but we ain’t complaining…because, Mummy spent it making yummy dehydrated treats for the two of us! (Hehe, and there are plenty of leftovers for the whole week!) Anyway, we were extremely excited when Mummy told us what she had installed for us! To begin with, she started by swinging by the supermarket to buy some fresh meat, which includes chicken gizzards, lean pork, sliced chicken fillet, pork and chicken liver! She took some time out to slice them evenly.  The lean pork and liver sliced easily! But Mummy had a little trouble slicing up the chicken fillet the previous time, so she decided to get pre-sliced ones instead. They are a little thicker, thus require a longer time to dehydrate.  Anyway, a tip from my mother-in-law, Auntie Charmaine: freezing the meat slightly will make it easier and firmer to slice! Once the prep work was done, Mummy simply put the trays in position and got the dehydrator working! Mummy got the Open Country Pet treat maker from Amazon when we …

From Snowy with love….

Mummy came back with a handful of yummy home-made Parmesan and Mozzarella Whole Wheat Biscuits!! They looked amazing and smelled heavenly!! And we just couldn’t wait to get started on them! Just as we were waiting to get our share, Mummy started explaining where these treats came from. Apparently, my bestie’s, Jager, Mummy baked them just for us. Awwwwwwwwwww… so sweet can? That’s not all. Actually, these were baked by her on behalf of Snowy (Jager’s brother)… because… he wants to profess his love for Pecan ah ma. #snowyhasbadtaste #cannotbelievethatahmagotdogslike  FYI: This is Snowy, the Japanese White Goldie with bad taste in female dogs. This love declaration came out of the blue and we certainly weren’t expecting it at all.  After all, ah ma really isn’t fond of any other dogs. In fact, the last time they met, Snowy was following ah ma around the house. And all the grumpy old woman did was to keep walking away while growling at him. How lovable.  So how is it even possible that he likes her?!? Maybe …

Sam’s Pick – Feed My Paws Treats~

When Auntie Crystle from Feed My Paws dropped us an email asking if we were keen to review her handmade treats, we just couldn’t say no! I mean, who in the right mind would say no to anything edible?! Not us for sure… She was really awesome and asked us to pick whatever we wanted. So, we spent the entire evening glancing through the website (drooling while doing so) and pointed at EVERY SINGLE ITEM. Seeing how greedy we were, Mummy sighed and proceeded to let Auntie Crystle decide what she wants us to try. Booooooooooo~ Mummy sucks! As we don’t have any allergies and would eat anything that comes our way, Auntie Crystle offered to let us sample some of her bestsellers. (Fret not if you suffer from any food allergies as you can customize your very own treats using ingredients that you can eat!) And when the treats arrived at home, we could not believe our eyes! There were so many yummy looking snacks JUST FOR US!!! *Wriggly dance* #soimpressed We were so …

A dog’s box!

Who says boxes are only for cats? As a Canis Lupus familiaris (aka dogs), we can be rather fond of this magic cardboard too! One of Daddy’s online shopping (prob one of his war hammy related stuff) came in an extremely big box. Just when Daddy was about to toss it out, Mummy had an idea and decided to let us have some fun with it. So with a penknife, she cut over a couple of openings and viola~ My little boxy fortress! It was pretty awesome. It was so much fun hiding in it. Hee, I swear Mummy couldn’t find me and kept walking past me without realizing! #myfortisinformidable  A happy camper in his little fort. Sigh~  Too bad for me, Pecan ah ma decided that she wanted to join in the fun as well.  So she forcefully squeezed in MY the box with me. #notimpressed Ah ma clearly loves it too.  (Spot me sulking in the background?) She was small enough to weave in and out of the cutouts. Not pleased that my privacy …

Freezy Pups!

Auntie Charmaine went on a holiday to Hong Kong and came back with a gift just for Pecan ah ma and myself! THANK YOU AUNTIE CHAR! We were super excited when we got our paws on it!  It’s Freezy Pups! She’s really generous as well. She could’ve just gotten us the tray and the four sample packs. But she was such a darling and actually bought us not one, not two, but FOUR boxes of refill packs. *Wriggly dance* I HEART YOU MY MIL. Oh, ah ma says she loves you too. Happy dogs waiting for yummy and cooling treats! We were spoilt for choice as the starter kit came with four different flavors! Picking one wasn’t difficult. I simply chose my favorite color – Orange (chicken soup recipe)! It is so fuss-free that we could’ve done it without Mummy!  Simply dissolve the entire packet in hot water and we were done! Of course we needed Mummy’s help to distribute the portions evenly into the tray. And then the horrid news came.  We had to …

Made with Love – Carrot Juice and Yoghurt Pupsicles!!

Thanks to Mummy’s willingness to indulge us, we’ve come to expect something special every weekend. (Hee, yap, weekends are my cheat days k!) Like other Saturdays, we sat around restlessly waiting for something good to pop up in front of us. But unlike other weekends, half the day had passed and there was still no signs of anything spectacular! So, we decided to speak up for our rights and demand something from Mummy. Unable to resist our adorable faces, Mummy finally lifted her butt of the sofa (yes, we are all couch potatoes), walked into the kitchen and whipped out her new toy – Zoku’s Mini Pop Molds! She also took out a packet of Mixed Carrot Juice and some low-fat yoghurt. Within seconds, she was done! (Diao~ we couldn’t understand why she didn’t do it earlier! Especially since it was so easy!! Boooo~) Well, at least we got to lick the almost empty yoghurt cup clean! Forgiven~ By now, we were so excited and couldn’t wait for the real treat. Only to be told …

Made with Love – Bento for Dogs!

We were a little doubtful when Mummy offered to make us dinner. I mean, how not to after the traumatic incident of the jelly. The Apple Jelly ended up okay, but its appearance was an appetite killer.  Hence, we were a little wary about what to expect. But we did what she told us and collected our bento boxes and handed them to her.  The truth was… she is after all the hand that feeds us, so we LL (no other choice). We did feel a little bad when we realized how much effort Mummy went into planning this. Mummy, being a Daiso Auntie, actually went on a shopping spree just to purchase useless items to decorate our bento.  (Okay, now, we are seriously getting a little worried…) Just when we were becoming increasingly uncomfortable about Mummy’s dinner proposition, we discovered a faint light at the end of the tunnel.  And it came in the form of three lovely ladies!  Yap, Mummy’s awesome colleagues (including my beloved Mother-in-law) actually swung by to give Mummy a hand. …

Cartoon Pecan!

Pecan’s portrait finally made its way from my homeland (USA) to Singapore! And Mummy was really delighted to see it! The proud ah-ma showing off her cartoon version! Of course I cannot lose,  so here’s a photo of adorable me and my even more adorable cartoon portrait. hmph~ Ain’t we cute? Somehow ah-ma decides that her best angle is her right profile.  I don’t quite agree but she wasn’t very receptive to my suggestion.  Anyway, as promised, Mummy went ahead and made magnets using ah ma’s drawing. So, here’s her and her magnets and a distracting strand of hair belonging to Daddy on the floor.  #mummyneedstosweepmoreoften Spot us on the fridge! Mummy’s planning to frame our portraits together and hang them on the wall. Can’t wait to see the outcome!

A treat for the dogs!!

While Mummy was at work, a nice lady came and brought Pecan ah ma out.  The nice lady was actually none other than Pecan’s other Mum – the one who loved her and doted on her for the first nine years of her life! (Of cos she still does!) And when they returned a good few hours later, ah ma came back with a whole bag of goodies!!!!! Pecan was very eager to show Mummy what she brought back! After all the anticipation (we were staring at it all evening and nearly couldn’t resist the temptation), we finally got around to opening the loot! And we found….dog toys (STUFFIES!), apparels, supplements and, most importantly, DOG TREATS!! *wriggly dance* Pecan was super excited about it.. ME?  I was kinda worried that she isn’t gonna share her awesome stash with me!  But being the sweetheart she always is… *cough cough* She said okay! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE~ Ah ma is da best! We started off by sharing the toys.  I got the cupcake (how manly..-_-) and she got the ice …
