Our Green hike at the Green Corridor

For the first time in a very very blue moon, Mummy decided that she wanted to go for a hike with us. And of course, Daddy could not say no.  Hence, on a very bright Saturday morning, she woke up and dragged two sleepy dogs and one very sianz husband out of the house at 8.30am! (SHE NEVER WAKES UP BEFORE TEN ON SATURDAYS! THIS IS A MIRACLE)  Our destination was none other than Green Corridor! Mummy had heard great things about it from other dog owners and finally decided to explore the place for herself! The Green Corridor used to be a railway land connecting Singapore and Malaysia. After the train stations were relocated, the railway line began defunct. While plans on what to do with the space is still underway, in the meantime, it has been converted into an awesome cycling and pedestrian path connecting many green spaces together!  For a start, we decided to challenge the Bukit Timah Train Station-Holland Road stretch of the Green Corridor. We got Grandmummy to drop us off at Holland Road …

Our Birthday Treat – Pet Cruise

Our birthday came in three parts this year.  The awesome cake was just the icing. The second highlight of our special day was a…. PET CRUISE!  I mean..why not? Since both Pecan ah ma and myself are such huge fans of the water, Mummy thought it would be apt to bring us on a cruise out into the sea! How cool is that!! *Wriggly dance* Each dog is considered a passenger and the maximum capacity of the boat is ten. Any group with four or more is required to book the whole cruise.  Since there are four of us in total, we ended up having the whole boat to ourselves!  Mummy did invite a few friends to join us. Unfortunately, due to her extreme lack of communication (okay la, to her credit, she had been working late nights for the whole week prior to the cruise), none of her friends turned up. Boooo~ no give me face.  PUI. But it worked out great as that meant that we had more space to roam around!  Plus, …

The best part of Chinese New Year is…

collecting ANG BAOS!!!! And when our begging powers combined, our stash of red packets doubled!! Wheeee…thank you to all the awesome Aunties and Uncles! Now we just have to get our parents to bring us to the pet store to stock up on our favourite treats with the ang bao money!! But our job is not done! (There’s still 13 more days to the end of the lunar new year.) So,  More ang baos please!

Buckle up!

Mummy bought Pecan ah ma her very own Buddy Rider.  (Oh wait, Daddy just told me that he paid for it. Oops) And when it arrived, we got to try it out! The logistics behind getting the foldable bikes, the Buddy Riders and two adorable dogs safely to the east side of the country was unbelievably challenging.  My parents spent an hour in the morning pumping air into the bikes’ tyres (while me and ah ma chillax by the side). Ten minutes went to transporting the bikes down and another 20 figuring how to load everything into the car. We were so behind schedule by the time we started! After some unloading and assembling, we finally got buckled in!   I was all comfortable and ready to jet off.  Pecan was a tad bit uncertain and took a while getting used to it. Pecan still a little hesitant. After a quick pep talk from me, she was all excited to go! And off we went~ I followed Mummy while Daddy took Pecan.  The lovely breeze …

Chasing Waves…

We had a blast this weekend doing what we do best – chasing waves!!! My awesome parents brought us to East Coast Park for lunch, some beach-time and cycling! Pecan is a natural bikini ah ma!  The moment my parents dropped our leashes, off she went, crashing into waves (barking at them as well) and running along the shoreline! Of course, I cannot lose la and did exactly the same! After having some ‘shiok’ run-free time, we got into a game of tag!  First, I got to chase Pecan.  Aiya~ no kick and I caught her easily! Tag! You’re it! Too bad for Pecan, she wasn’t quite my opponent and just couldn’t catch up! Nay-nay-nay-boo-boo~ *Smug look*   We eventually grew tired of the game and decided to just enjoy the waves and the beach! It was the best thing ever. Except for one tiny winy complaint – the water tasted disgusting!! And ah ma was so mean when I tried to bitch about it. BOoo~ We were really disappointed that we had to leave …

Dogs’ day out – Anthesis

It’s been a while since we had a good family brunch at a new place (Don’t worry, my parents are still bringing me out on weekends, just that we have been revisiting the same few places). To welcome Pecan, as well as to have a sense of how she does outside, Mummy and Daddy brought us to a new Sam-welcomed place for a goood brunch.  Deciding where to go was easy. Mummy chose Anthesis as it was the pet-friendly venue for the Dec/Jan issue of the magazine.  Daddy parked along Kim Seng Road and we strolled over. Introducing Anthesis! Absolutely dog-friendly as we were even served a pink bowl with water to beat the heat. Sigh, pink really isn’t my colour. Suits Pecan more. My happy family!  (Daddy’s typical sian face as usual. haha) Service was quick and we got our food quickly. Mummy ordered a Tuna Tataki Sandwich (which she loves, but again, anything with avocado can’t go wrong for her).  Daddy ordered Eggs 3-way which is great for people who can’t quite decide how …

Like brother, like sister!

Unlike me, Pecan is a natural swimmer!  Well, at least with our family. While I may appear to an expert monkey rescuer, it took me a good four to five months (and alot of $$ and hard work) to get to where I am today.  On the contrary, Pecan actually jumped into the water and swam on her own on our very first visit to the dog pool.  Kudos! (Mummy: Yap, that puts fatty Sam to shame!) As Pecan doesn’t a life purpose while swimming, she would just go for a quick dip, before turning around and climbing out of the pool. Thus, to get her to swim and exercise more, I decide to take her under my fat wings and teach her the art of monkey rescue.  Unfortunately, Monkey is a tad bit big and heavy for her small frame. Luckily, I do have a stash of toys and we managed to find one that fits her fine perfectly  The Mr Spike Latex Toy! Yap, Pecan Woods Loo Lim is the official Monster Rescue! …

My staycation at Dog-friendly Capella!!

We used to go on plenty of road trips when we were based in NYC. Unfortunately for me, this came to an end when we moved to Singapore. One major reason is that there is a lack of pet friendly facilities in here. (boo!) When Mummy came to realise that Capella Sentosa was dog-friendly, she decided to book us a staycation! As it is a six-star hotel, a staycation certainly didn’t come cheap. There were several options for the types of room one can choose. Mummy pondered really hard and long before deciding to book the Garden Villa. Why? Because there is a PRIVATE POOL!  Hee, I was looking forward to it like nobody’s business!! We had to take a bugy ride to our villa.  (We come to realise that it was actually walking distance to the carpark, so after the first day, we decided to just stroll over.) My first bugy ride! The kind people there actually prepared a dog bed and bowl for me! And they even know to address me by my name.  …

Dog Hash #3

We went for our 3rd hash experience last weekend. And it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! My ballsy parents decided to let me off leash and I did everything I could to make them regret their decision to do so. How not to when Mummy and Daddy were so freaking slow and I was way ahead of them (and almost everyone else). Yes, I did hear a crazy woman screaming her lungs out (I think she was calling for “SAM” ?), but who gives a shit when the forest is just so exciting! How do you know if you had fun?  See how dirty you are. Check out my before and after.  *Proud Grinz* My best moment had to be when I was swimming in the long kang (canal). Believe it anot, I actually ran down that uber steep slope to get to the bottom of the drain. This is the best swim ever! Of course, one reason why I loved it was that my parents were pretty annoyed with having to chase after me as that meant that they …

Sam by the river…

It has been a while since we headed out for a nice Sam-welcomed brunch. Since it was Daddy’s birthday, we just had to pamper ourselves and set out for a family meal. Deciding where to go was easy. Mummy was introduced to eM by the River by some taitai friends of hers. On her first visit there, she was pleasantly surprised to see two (overly) yappy poodles chilling out on the couches in the indoor space while their owners enjoyed their lunch. Since then, she has been mentioning that she wanted to bring me here. Guess she finally found the right time to. Daddy preaching (*yawns*) while we were waiting to be seated. Although we didn’t make reservations, we were pretty lucky to be seated beside the river. Mummy was actually hoping to be indoors where I can actually chill on the couch. Unfortunately, the indoor seatings are designed for bigger groups.  Maybe next time. Happy me with my parents.  Geesh, they both needa work on their hair…  Enjoying the lovely weather and good river view. …
