Sam’s Day Out – Baker & Cook!

Yap! It’s time for Sam’s Day out! Hooray! *Wags tail* This week’s Sam-welcomed hangout is…  Baker & Cook!  (Thanks Auntie Larissa for the great recommendation!) There are currently two branches but we headed to the one at Hillcrest as it is nearer to home. Plus it was pretty easy getting there by car (it’s right behind my parents’ old school!). Parking was a tad bit challenging though.  Baker & Cook is a artisan bakery and foodstore located at Greenwood shop houses. It serves a wide selection of bread and pastries. The fragrance of the dough fills the cosy little shop and I could not stop drooling at the sight of the yummy looking food!  As usual, outdoor seatings were plentiful and though there was a queue, most of the customers were doing takeouts. Hence, there were quite a number of outdoor seats for us to choose from. My parents decided to take a little risk and chose the table that was half-sheltered but at the patio so that I could rest comfortably without blocking the walk-way even …

Run Forest Run…

Before mummy’s camera battery died on Saturday, she was trying hard to capture me in action running.  (This time, I didn’t have a leash on as the whole area in K9 Kulture is fenced in. And boy, that felt great!) RUN FOREST RUN!!! I’M IN THE AIR!!!  FLY, LITTLE SAMMY! Leaping off! Nothing beats the feeling of being able to run free with the awesome breeze blowing at my face!  (Hee, I was running so fast that I had to close my eyes to prevent the wind from hurting my little eye!) Gosh, I am such a sprinter! Daddy once mentioned that the one thing he loves about me is my ability to run around in lightning speed while getting other dogs to chase me. Pity there wasn’t any other dogs there at that time, but I sure did have an awesome workout and Daddy was all smiles watching me! Of course, I reserved some energy for the swim too.. hee…  And as expected, my parents brought a half-dead and truly exhausted little dog home …

Shopping for Sammy!!

A parcel from Petswag came for Mummy today. I was jumping in joy as I knew that the contents were for me! However, my stupid parents decided to take their own sweet time in unveiling the package. They had dinner, took me for a walk, had their showers, did the laundry BEFORE it was finally time for the opening ceremony.  Needless to say, I was so impatient by then and had my ultimate begging face on. PLEASE OPEN IT!!!!!!!!!!!! There were two items in the box.  Item number 1 was…. a Chilewich Dog Mat in Sammy’s favourite colour – ORANGE! It is made from basketweave woven flooring and has an anti-slip base.  Sure does make my boring meals a lot of interesting! I cannot wait to start eating away on it. I thought I should just start eating my supper on it. However, mummy started screaming at me when I brought my catch over and attempted to ‘eat’ it. Grown-ups are confusing.  Boo~ Item number 2 was… a Cloud7 Travel Bed Tweed Grey (Medium)! Wondering what’s so …

Sam’s Day Out!

Since both my parents started working and are worried that they might have neglected me, they decided to dedicate one weekend day to be “Sam’s Day Out!”. It is a day where activities are centered around little Sammy Loo (ME!!). It normally kicks off with a Sam-welcomed hunt for a yummy lunch (well, my parents ain’t huge foodies, but they surely can’t do without food!), before ending the day with a slam doing things I adore (e.g. swimming or running around).  Awesome isn’t it? This week’s Sam-welcomed hunt is… L’etoile Cafe – a quaint little cafe hidden in a quiet estate along Owen Road. The nearest carpark was about three minutes away so we took a quick stroll over. Of course, I was head over heels excited to be in a brand new neighborhood! L’etoile is a japanese inspired cafe with a french twist. Mummy was in love with the simple modern decor and the little pop-up booth selling local handmade craft pieces. The ambience of the cafe makes it a great place for a quiet read …

Finally… a trip to the B-E-A-C-H!!!!!

I was whisked away into the car early in the morning on the weekend. Dang! I thought I could finally laze in bed. -_- I was still groggy and half awake when we arrived at our destination 30 minutes later. When mummy winded down the window, I knew something exciting was waiting for me. It smelt like… the BEACH!  *Wriggly dance* Yes, we were at East Coast Park!!!! I got up immediately and attempted to jump right out the window. (Fear not, mummy had a good grip and I was still leashed..) When we finally got out of the car, I could not wait to get my little paws wet. Unfortunately for me, my stupid parents had yet to have their breakfast and I was dragged to the restaurant with them.  BOO~~ Anyway, mummy found yet another dog friendly place, Sunset Bay. As we were pretty early, there wasn’t much of a crowd and we were seated right away. After a 10 minute wait or so, our food was served. Daddy had shepherd’s pie while …

Happy belated Labour Day!

Since Labour Day (May 1st) was a public holiday, my sweet parents decided to bring me out to enjoy the sun and greenery of the little red dot. They chose to explore a new place! How exciting!! *Grinz* After some thought and little planning, we headed to…. BOTANIC GARDENS! Hee, it was certainly my virgin visit there. Apparently, both my parents couldn’t even remember when they were last there! (It was probably donkey years ago) So I guess that made it more interesting for everyone! To avoid parking woes, Daddy parked the car at the NIE campus along Bukit Timah Road. Lucky for us, we found a lot near the entrance to Jacob Ballas Children’s Playground. On the flip side, it was at the other end of the gardens. -_-  Nonetheless, we embarked on our journey of exploration around the famous garden. The whole garden is really dog friendly (though there are a couple of out of bounds area for me). The no off-leash rule doesn’t affect me as usual.  Wondering what we did? We …

Crafting duo presents….

the simplest project EVER. All you need is an old shirt.  (Hee, yes, you saw it right, it’s a A&F!) As usual, I had to test the fabric before we can begin.  Once again, I approve. Curious about what the project is about?  Pity the shirt didn’t fit, else it would have looked great on me.  And nope, it wasn’t a shirt for me… Hope you guessed it right, and yes, it’s an upcycled dog collar! All mummy did  was to use a pinking shears and cut the collar out. It took no more than a minute and the project was completed! I swear I could have done it if I had thumbs! Easy breezy… Awesome isn’t it? Check out the handsome boy and his new collar!  Loving it.  Hee, I feel like a grown up wearing it!  Mummy felt that the collar was a tad bit big for me while Daddy thought it was okay. After all, the shirt collar is 15.5″ but my neck is only 12″..oops, now you know my waistline too.  …

Our little picnic…

We had a quickie picnic a couple of weekends ago.  On the spur of the moment, mummy decided that we do a little picnic at West Coast Park, followed by some cycling.  (The truth was… my stupid mummy overslept and missed my meal time. Hence, they had to pack my breakfast, brunch rather, along with them for the cycling trip.) Presenting Sammy’s little picnic box! I was pretty excited about the picnic till I saw that it was nothing more than my regular food.  What a wet blanket.  But since I was starving, I ate it anyway. My poor parents didn’t have it any better. Since the picnic was really last minute, they decided to just grab a MacDonald’s Takeout.  Sad. (I am normally VERY fond of Macs for it’s yummy nuggets. Too bad for me, breakfast is served till noon so no nuggies for me. Sigh~) I finished my brunch earlier than the rest and could not be bothered to sit around and chill. Hee, got into my Sammy little hunting mode and was …

My new old bowls…

Mummy is a sucker for Flea Markets and would buy tons of trash cool things from there. She recently discovered the Public Garden Flea Market and happily dragged Godmummy along for a little shopping spree. Sadly, unlike the fleas in NYC, this clearly isn’t dog friendly. Hence I’ve to trust mummy to buy things on my behalf. She came back with a bagful of really weird things – a terrarium, one melted and disgusting mango sago tart (even I didn’t want a bite) and two cute bowls for me (that I totally approve!). Aren’t they cool? The two bowls were retro new and reminded mummy of her childhood! Plus, she thought that the two bowls would photograph the future goodies she’s gonna make for me well. She decided to get me used to the bowl by putting some treats in it. However, I was a little uncertain as the metal bowl was making some clinking sounds when it hit against the tiles when I touch it (the bottom of the bowl isn’t completely flat). I …
