Pecan’s trainer wanted our parents to expose her to other dogs (from a safe distance) to work on her reactivity. Thus, our devoted parents brought us here for a walk in Bishan park! They actually woke up at 7.30am on a Sunday morning for this! #myparentsaredogslaves Though they did have to drag my lazy ass out of bed, it was all worth it! I did get some playtime in the dog run (accompanied by Daddy of course), while Pecan and Mummy worked on ah ma’s training.  Pecan did great and only reacted to one out of the four dogs she met! Kudos ah ma! Keep up the great work!

Mummy found a fully enclosed park at Grandmummy’s condo! We officially declare it Sam & Pecan’s secret garden. *Wriggly dance* Of course we got some off-leashed time. As usual, I didn’t do too well as I got too occupied barking competitively at the dogs at the landed properties surrounding the park. It’s not my fault their owners decided to lock them up in the backyard ma~ So yap, I lost my off-leash privilege within the first five minutes of the walk. booooooo~ Ah ma did great and responded to every single command Mummy had, so she remained off-leash throughout the walk. #spoilmarket

When Mummy broke her S3 on purpose, erm, accidentally, she knew she just had to get an iPhone again. And boy, I’m sure glad she did! Especially since, she has started using her iPhone to capture our week!  It’s quite difficult and certainly impractical to carry her DSLR everywhere she goes. Hence, it’s a real delight that she can now use her phone to capture moments that she might otherwise miss. Best of all, the images looked great (I mean the model plays a huge part too la~) and certainly blog-worthy!  So I was wondering, why not start a series of posts of our lives through an iPhone! #geniusSam Keep a lookout for short entries throughout the week to find out what mischief we have been up to! Cole turns O-N-E!

I attended my very first dog birthday party for the year!! Of course I came dressed for the occasion! It’s Cole’s birthday!!! This charming fellow officially turned one-year-old (even though he weighs x3 of me!)! Welcome to adulthood dude.. The party was held at Paw Pet-radise Cafe. Cole’s awesome Daddy booked the whole place for two hours for us to create havoc! Besides being a closed door event, there was some yummy finger food for the humans and paw food just for dogs! The party was really relaxing and we pretty much just spent our time… sniffing butts, Making new friends. Meet Smiggle, the American Cocker Spaniel, who secretly has a crush on me, maybe because I’m American too. Sorry babe but I’m taken. Goofing around. Bunny Sam wishes you Happy Easter~ Most importantly,  begging for food. I started with a more subtle attempt by sitting around where food is. Our weekend treat – Junk food

It’s time for our weekend treat again!!!  Wheeeeeeee~ This week, Mummy got really really lazy and decided to buy something off the shelf.  Being a sucky for dog-related stuff, Mummy couldn’t resist buying these while at Cold Storage.  At first glance, Mummy knew that these probably won’t be any good quality treats. But she was bought over by the bowls and decided that they were worth the money anyway. #mymummyisasucker I got first pick!  So of course, I’m gonna take ORANGE! Since it is my colour after all. Plus, it’s cheese flavoured! How to say no. Pecan ah ma looking pleased with her green bowl! Plus it’s peanut butter!! Yumz. I couldn’t wait any longer and headed straight for the treats the moment Mummy opened it.  She ended up having to pull me away. “Noooo..it’s mine!!”   Enticing isn’t it? They looked great!  Pecan ah ma agrees man. Check out her drool! Tsk tsk tsk So un-ladylike. Every time someone asks Mummy about why she decided on Jack Russells out of the many breeds, she would let out a resigned sigh, take a deep breath and express regret. Then, she would start ranting about our countless antics, e.g. too hyper, feisty, small-dog-syndrome, blah blah blah.  What la~ So not fair right? JRTs are the best breed ever lor.  So to our defense, let me and Pecan ah ma tell you what an awesome breed we are. To begin with, we are super intelligent. So smart so that we can do things on command. Mummy: “Smile Sam~” Sam: “Ay ay~” We can even nod in agreement with your philosophical views. We have the best begging faces. So please don’t bother saying no to us. Wahahahhaha.. We live life and know the best ways to distress. Such as by having a drink or two. (FYI, I’m legal k. I’m four doggie years old, which equates to 28 in human years!) OR  simply sleeping our lives away on our nice cushion… though we secretly prefer …

Thanks to Mummy’s willingness to indulge us, we’ve come to expect something special every weekend. (Hee, yap, weekends are my cheat days k!) Like other Saturdays, we sat around restlessly waiting for something good to pop up in front of us. But unlike other weekends, half the day had passed and there was still no signs of anything spectacular! So, we decided to speak up for our rights and demand something from Mummy. Unable to resist our adorable faces, Mummy finally lifted her butt of the sofa (yes, we are all couch potatoes), walked into the kitchen and whipped out her new toy – Zoku’s Mini Pop Molds! She also took out a packet of Mixed Carrot Juice and some low-fat yoghurt. Within seconds, she was done! (Diao~ we couldn’t understand why she didn’t do it earlier! Especially since it was so easy!! Boooo~) Well, at least we got to lick the almost empty yoghurt cup clean! Forgiven~ By now, we were so excited and couldn’t wait for the real treat. Only to be told …

Made with Love – Bento for Dogs!

We were a little doubtful when Mummy offered to make us dinner. I mean, how not to after the traumatic incident of the jelly. The Apple Jelly ended up okay, but its appearance was an appetite killer.  Hence, we were a little wary about what to expect. But we did what she told us and collected our bento boxes and handed them to her.  The truth was… she is after all the hand that feeds us, so we LL (no other choice). We did feel a little bad when we realized how much effort Mummy went into planning this. Mummy, being a Daiso Auntie, actually went on a shopping spree just to purchase useless items to decorate our bento.  (Okay, now, we are seriously getting a little worried…) Just when we were becoming increasingly uncomfortable about Mummy’s dinner proposition, we discovered a faint light at the end of the tunnel.  And it came in the form of three lovely ladies!  Yap, Mummy’s awesome colleagues (including my beloved Mother-in-law) actually swung by to give Mummy a hand. …

Our weekend hike – Bidadari

It’s kinda Mummy’s daily route to drive by Bidadari every day after work.  She had noticed many dogs and their owners strolling around and decided that she had to bring us here. And so today is the day! It was quite difficult figuring out where to park or if there was any map of the place.  In the end, Mummy had to fight the Qingming crowd for a parking lot at Mount Vernon instead. From there, we strolled over to the actual Bidadari area where our hike finally started. Happy pooches, ready to explore the ex-cemetry! Oh oh..and Keyser came along too! It’s quite hard to believe but my brother-from-another-mother actually survived a car ride in the same car as the crazy ah ma! (Nope, no one got killed, we just got tons of treats!) FYI: Keyser is the male version of Pecan. They have the same quirks. Well done Keys and ah ma! Apple Jelly for dogs!

We know something was cooking when Mummy started cutting apples into cubes in the kitchen! Plus, she also took out her sam-sized cooking pot.  And we were right! Guess what’s on the menu…. It’s… APPLE JELLY FOR DOGS! Wheeeeeee~ You are probably wondering where she got the inspiration from… Mummy bought a dog jelly mould donkey years ago from Amazon (Most likely because she needed items to hit the minimum USD125 for free shipping). After it had collected dust for a good few months, she decided to finally put it into good use. (And we are not complaining!) (Source) A quick google and Mummy realized that there really isn’t any simple recipes for jellies for dogs. Hence, she decided to come up with one herself using whatever she could find in the kitchen. She used chicken stock, apples and gelatin.  Simple as that.  And it looks promising too! We were so excited to get started on our dessert till the horrid news struck. Yap, we had to leave it in the chiller overnight. #Notimpressed After …
