Made with Love.. Second Serving!

After Mummy’s first successful attempt making beef jerky, she embarked on her second attempt – Chicken Breast Jerky. This time, she made sure to keep it within budget and bought two packets of chicken breast (for less than $5). Mummy added some parsley and garlic powdering to increase the tastiness of the chicken.  (Plus, parsley also helps to remove stinky breath!) Stupid mummy only seasoned the top of the meat. Hence when she proceeded to slice them to 1/8″ to 1/4″ thick pieces, not all pieces were well seasoned.  Duh~ But they sure looked and smelt good nonetheless. Close up of the best slice piece! *Drools* Unfortunately, it took a whooping eight hours for the whole dehydration process to be completed. I was soooo bored of waiting. T_T At least dinner was awesome! Mummy rewarded my patience with a home cooked chicken meal using the leftover meat and some frozen vegetables. Daddy commented that it smelt so good that he wanted to have them for himself. Ho ho ho. Not happening, Daddy! Finally, after a …

Sam the monkey Rescuer!

Remember my rescue missions in New York? My missions ended when we had to relocate back. BUT!!! The lovely people from Water4Dogs adored me so much that they actually gave me my very own monkey as a farewell gift. Awww~ It’s mine, mine, MINE! While I was all excited to start rescuing my very own monkey, Stupid mummy chose to ship the monkey by sea!  I almost died waiting! After 2 long months of waiting, it finally arrived! Woohoo~ And on an awesome day, we set out for some monkey rescue missions!!! Monkey in distress! Here I come!!!!! Bringing him to safety! “Hm..monkey actually tasted pretty good.” “Oh what? I’m not supposed to eat him?” OOOOoooooops. Nevermind then. I’ll just parade with him in my mouth. Proud monkey rescuer giving the poor monkey some first aid! CPR with one paw! After two good hours of repeated rescues (the stupid monkey just could not seem to stay out of the water), I was a wet and exhausted dog! Guess now, I’m officially Sam the INTERNATIONAL monkey …

The after party!

Well, my birthday celebration didn’t just end with lunch.  Since it was my special special day, I was entitled to have a blast!  Woohoo~ *Little wriggly dance* It continued with Mummy allowing me to roam the whole compound! I started by exploring the surroundings of the cafe.. (Kinda hoping to find some food crumbs but failed miserably. -_- ) After which, I ventured off to the grassy areas. Off I went~ Then I spotted something… A DOGGY POOL!! I was extremely obsessed with finding the entrance into the pool and could not stop running around the fence. Unfortunately, the pool was completely fenced up. Unlike the rest of the compound which is open (free) to the public, there’s an entry charge for the usage of the pool.  I refused to give up! Oh oh , and a really Cute candid shot of me! Mummy was contemplating if she should let me swim. While I’m a really strong swimmer, she was worried that I might throw up after swimming due to the yummy lunch I just …

The day i turned one two THREE!

On 26th January 2013, me, little Sammy Loo Lim, turned 3.  Due to the huge move back and Daddy being away, mummy’s initial plan of throwing a birthday party for me went down the drain. She decided to keep it simple by bringing me out for a birthday lunch. After some research, she chose the K9 cafe by K9 Kulture located at turf city.  K9 Kulture occupies a pretty huge lot that is completely fenced in. Once we walked through the double gate, I was free to roam around the whole compound.  Sigh, the joys of being off leashed~ Oh oh, and the cafe is fully air conditioned! Yes, dogs are allowed inside too! Wheeeeeeeee A furkids menu just for cute dogs like me.  After some thought, I decided to try the beef meatballs!   What’s a birthday without a birthday cake! Mummy asked me to choose my own cake and I chose the only ‘manly’ cake – the blue one.  I got to act like an adult and even sat on the chair like the …

Saying my goodbyes to Coco and Toto!

One of the places that I’m going to miss a ton in NYC is my favorite daycare – Coco and Toto. I’ve been going to this daycare for a year (the previous place closed down!) and both my parents and I absolutely adore them.  It was really bittersweet on my last day at daycare. Although I did received tons and tons of hugs, tummy rubs and kisses, I was also really sad to say goodbye. Mummy prepared a “Thank You” card and a cute Polaroid of me and gave it to the staff who had been awesome to me. Hee, they always tell mummy that I’m the best and most well-behaved Jack Russell they have ever seen. Ho ho ho. (Which mummy would reply in return that I am a fraud. Boo~) Coco and Toto is a cage less daycare and dogs who have sleepovers will remain in the common room with all the other dogs the whole time. Hence, I was never lonely during the three to four staycations I had with them. I …

ABCD…

Mummy and Daddy were chit chatting with Uncle Nick and Auntie Rachel over dinner one day and they were discussing about weird interesting names of people they met over the years. Daddy mentioned that there were people with english names like Carat, Circle, Control.. (like seriously?! I wouldn’t even name a dog that). This was when Auntie Rachel mentioned that she once met a Hong Kong counterpart called ABCD (pronounced as Ab-cee-dee). Everyone was super fascinated and couldn’t stop laughing.. I was also ROFL-ing when mummy had a *ta-da* moment and insisted that ABCD would have been an awesome name for me. (Say what~~~~~~) Her rationale… ABCD = American Born Chinese Dog, which is pretty much me. She really wanted to change my name to that. (I am NOT kidding.) Luckily Daddy is sane enough to say no.  I’m also uber thankful Daddy named me Sam before mummy got wind of the name. (PHEW~) Can you imagine people checking out my name tags the first time we meet? I could totally picture the eye rollings …

Little Sammy

Mummy found some puppy photos of me and could not stop sighing about how cute I used to be. Sigh. Is Mummy implying that I’m not as cute as I was ? I used to get stopped at every junction and crossroad by strangers who think that I was the cutest thing in the world. Not to brag, but there were several times when people even offered to buy me over. I’m pretty sure Mummy and Daddy even secretly discussed what the price was if they were to accept the offer. (Mummy thought I was priceless. Awww~, but stupid Daddy was more than glad to let me go at cost price. Dang you.) Now? Well, I still get the occasional coos and ahhs from people (especially tourists) but I do think that reality hurts and there is just too much competition out that in the streets with annoying new puppies popping up every day. Oh well, too bad for me. Despite all that, I’m sure mummy still loves me for what I am. (Right Mummy?) …

My name is…

Well, Mummy gets tons of questions regarding why I am called Sam and why my middle name is Forest. To save Mummy some saliva and time, here’s how the story goes. After falling head over heels with me on first sight, Mummy and Daddy went on a puppy name search. Mummy (being a huge fan of South Park and Family Guy) came up with two really ‘creative’ names, Stewie and Butters. However, Daddy refused, thinking that it would be really lame. (Well, I wonder how different life would be if I was named after a cartoon character.. Hm, I would probby get laughed at by the other dogs. Phew~ I owe Daddy one on this!) After some debate (pretty one-sided though), Daddy who was totally fixated on the name Sam won. His rationale? He just thought I looked like ‘Sam’. -_- Eventually, Mummy craved in, and here I am, Sam I am. Guess the story behind my middle name was somewhat more meaningful. My middle name was thought by my god dad! Here’s the formula:Sam …

Sammy’s first post..

Mummy finally craved in and created a blog just for me. (I guess she’s just sick and tired of me hogging the contents on her own blog.) Nonetheless, I’m not complaining! Now, I can finally show the world Sam’s little doggy perspective about everything, anything. Here I come..
