My after-bath routine..

Like many dogs, I’m not exactly fond of being bathed. Unfortunately for me, mummy has a twice-a-month bath policy for me. (Sucks~) While I dislike the bathing process, I detest the drying routine even more. Here’s how it goes.  1. It begins with a quick attempt to dry me slightly using a microfiber towel, which was a gift for me from one of mummy’s house guest. While it’s a pretty small towel, it is pretty effective in drying my head, neck and butt area. 2. After the quick drying, I proceed to dry myself further using a beach towel. 3. Like a cat, I also try to groom myself dry.  In the meantime, I would occasionally shoot mummy dirty looks to display my dissatisfaction.  4. Once mummy opens bathroom door, I would proceed to dry myself even more on my parents’ beds. Rolling around the duvet has proven to be one of the best way to dry my coat.  I roll. And roll. After maybe a good 10 minutes, and probably about 70% dry, I …

Fiesta Island, San Diego

If there is a doggy heaven, I’m pretty sure this is how it looks/feels like.  Yes, this is the BEST place on earth. This is Fiesta Island, San Diego, where dogs run free, unleashed. This lovely peninsular island is just beyond amazing. Not only is there plenty of land for me to roam, the water is calm and there’s no nasty waves that might scare the hell out of me. Period.  There’s a specific fenced in ‘dog park’ for dogs that ain’t as good off leash (aka me). However, the area isn’t fully enclosed and there are openings at each end of the beach. My off-leash track record have been pretty horrid, thus explaining the long tail (leash) that I was tagging along. But nothing is gonna stop me when I’m having fun! The place is crazy huge. After an hour of fun, splash and hike, we barely even covered one tenth of the fenced in dog park. Look how huge the fenced in dog park is! Did I mention that there were plenty of …

It’s Hollywood~

I’m at Hollywood BABY!  Since I haven’t had my breakout role in hollywood yet, thus do not qualify having my name down on the walk of fame, the best I could do was to take photos with stars that share my name. We found Sammy Kaye. (I’ve NO idea who he is..) And Forest Whitaker. (I actually recognize this actor!) My parents got tired and couldn’t be bothered to look for “Loo” or “Lim”, but again, I doubt that they would be able to find any.  Last but not least, I had my own taste of the red carpet. (Where are my fans though?) Sigh, leaving Hollywood was bittersweet. Where’s the agent that’s supposed to spot me and make me the next superstar (to replace Uggie?!)? I’m disappointed. Sucks to have to leave empty-handed.  Better luck next time!

From Orlando with love..

My heartless parents finally came back from their Orlando vacation. I was already upset with them for abandoning me. To make matters worse, not only didn’t they buy me any treats, they brought back a gift that I really do not like – A tee-shirt. -_- Here’s a little background first. My mummy bought a set of THING 1 & 2 shirts 2 years ago when we visited Orlando (I went along too!).  Here’s a shot of us – Mummy = Thing 1, Sam (ME ME!) = Thing 2 and Poor Daddy = Thing 3. That completely explains the hierarchy of the family as well.  I was obviously still a cute puppy then. Hence after two years, I’ve completely outgrown that shirt (as shown below). It’s just too tight fitting and considering that I do not have the bod of an A&F model, I looked pretty crappy.  That’s how short it is now. Too sexy for my liking.  So, my brilliant parents thought that the best souvenir for me would be a bigger version of …

My weekend with Daddy..

Mummy went for a craft convention with her girlfriends over the weekend, leaving me home alone with Daddy.  Life’s really boring without Mummy.  Daddy would fulfill his daddy duties by bringing me for walks and to the dog park. After which, he would pretty much ignore me while he focuses on his ‘son’, the PS3.  Sigh, I’m a poor neglected child. I sure am glad when mummy came home! Now I just have to follow her where ever she goes so that she won’t slip out for another trip without me!

My Yummy Dinners

I am a really fussy eater. Since the blog post about my eating habits about a year ago, my diet has been changed numerous time. This time, I think mummy finally got it right. I’ve been eating this for the past 3 months and I’m certainly not complaining.  Mummy prepares my dinner with love! She actually cooks a different protein (usually rotating between chicken breast meat and beef), tons of vegetables (carrots, corn and peas) and a stock to add a little taste. Occasionally I get a special ingredient depending on what she finds in the refrigerator that is dog-friendly. She then mixes them with my favorite dry food – Taste of the wild.  And ta-dah~ My very own gourmet dinner.  Hee, I love listening to how Daddy grumbles that mummy rather cooks for me than for him. (Now you know where Daddy stands in the family. *Gloats*)  To make things easier, mummy cooks several portions each time. She then freezes the extras in individual zip loc bags and microwave a portion per day. After …

My week @ the corporate apartment

As our actual apartment flooded, we were relocated to a corporate apartment in the building across the road while they fixed the floors. I was so excited about the apartment and fell in love with it immediately. Hee, as what my mummy would say, I was pretty much everywhere in the apartment. Well, that was my way of claiming what belongs to me. Anyway, here’s a quick walk-through of what I loved about the apartment.  One of my favorite things about this apartment was that it was on the 4th floor, giving me an excellent street view. I could hear and see my dog friends on their walks. Occasionally, I would bark back to confuse them. I absolutely love how frantic they were when they tried looking for me. Hee. The living room wasn’t as large as our actual apartment but the fabric couch was amazing! I would roll on, sleep on it and scratch my little paws all day long. Well, mummy on the other hand wasn’t exactly fond of it. After all, she was …

Ten Little Facts about Sammy – Number 6!

I have A LOT of sleeping spots. Being the only child/dog in the household, I’m entitled to be spoilt. And spoilt I am indeed. To make sure that I’m comfortable at home, Mummy bought me a couple too many ‘beds’. (No, I’m not kidding.) I shall introduce them to you one by one. Spot #1 – My little Petmate Kennel Cab crate.  This was the very first bed I owned. In fact, this is the crate that my parents picked me up in the very day they brought me home.  This is also the crate that I was confined to during the first year of my life (I was crate-trained). Sounds awful? Not exactly. This is Sammy’s little haven and I would retreat into it whenever I’m afraid (esp when mummy takes out the harness).  Though I have grown a fair bit, this crate still fits me comfortably and goes with us whenever we travel. It sits right beside mummy’s sleeping spot by the bed, makes me feel safe and contented every time I’m in …
