Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner! Being American and having lived in NYC for a good part of my life, I know nuts about this occasion. Plus, why bother. Till I realise that….when humans celebrate this day, they do so by enjoying mooncakes. And guess what, apparently there are doggy versions of this festive treat as well! *Wriggly dance* Introducing Mooncakes for Dogs, by Pawlicious Bakery! (source) When Mummy saw this, she knew she had to get it.. FOR ME! With Daddy’s pocket (each cost $5.50) and my waistline in mind, she decided to get just three flavours. The cute dog mooncakes look every bit like the ones mummy eats! And I can’t wait to begin! Pardon my ‘stone’ face. It’s just that I’m dead tired after a good afternoon swim and Mummy kept insisting on taking pictures before I could start eating. zzzzz I want to eat them and go to sleep. Hurry~ As three at a go is a tad bit much for a little dog like me, we decided to start …
Just got wind that Auntie R, Grandma’s domestic helper who absolutely dotes on me, left for a home visit and never came back despite renewing her contract. Boohoo~ Now, Grandma is fuming mad and equally frustrated over getting a new helper, while Mummy is worried buckets about whether I’ll be in good hands when the new helper arrives. All I’m thinking about.. is my lack of treats… Oh well, maybe I can convinced the replacement auntie to give me treats with my puppy eyes. Time to start training. On a good note, it also means that I get to enjoy yet another week of awesome daycare! Wooo~
We all know how awesome Amazon is. And we also know what an online shopaholic Mummy can be. So when we got wind that Amazon’s Global Shipping to Singapore is free for purchases above USD$125, you bet all hell broke loose! Within days of learning possibly one of the best news Mummy had have this year, she was in front of the iMac online browsing. AND.. A week after that fateful night, a lovely brown package arrived at our door step! Using my very cute paw-print, I signed and received it. Nope, I swore I didn’t bark at the mailman. Okay, maybe just one bark. Fine. TWO. I was all excited to see what was in it! Ta-dah~ (Yeah, green is mummy’s new black) I was in awe of the purchases. But I wasn’t sure if they were meant for me. Mummy: “Duh. Of course it’s for you.” *Huge huge HUGE smile* Mummy is da best! Time to explore and see what goodies are in there! Presenting the LOOT! Safemade Products! This company produces durable …
Inspired by this Anzac Biscuit Dog Treat recipe on Pretty Fluffy, mummy decided to make me some treats again! Hooray~ Oh, Anzac Day doesn’t mean anything to us, in fact, I have never heard about it till this. Mummy just felt that this was a real easy treat to make, hence she chose to bake it for me! A quick wiki about it showed that it is a day to commemorate all Australians and New Zealanders who served and sacrificed their lives during wars, conflicts or peacekeeping operations. What a meaningful day! *Salute* But the truth is.. i’m just happy that there is homemade food for me. Ha. Anyway, here’s our work-in-progress. The ingredients required and the steps needed are all mentioned on the link above. Do check it out if you are interested! After a quick bake, the biscuits were ready! The fragrance of the coconut and apple filled the kitchen the moment mummy opened the oven and I swear I started drooling at that very moment. Unwillingly posing for the shoot. “I …
One of my favorite things about mummy’s made with love sessions is the leftover ingredients! To reduce wastage (and to indulge me a little), I am usually given the leftovers. The leftovers from the chicken pops was none other than… YUMMY yoghurt! Sounds unhealthy doesn’t it? But the truth is… plain yoghurt is actually good for us. The active bacteria, acidophilus, acts as probiotics and keeps the good bacteria our intestines in check (knocking out the bad bacteria). Thus, aiding our digestion! Yummy healthy food. What a Win-win situation… The yoghurt was seriously lip-smacking good. Each time mummy removed the yoghurt out of my licking range, I would continue to lick my face and nose clean. Hence, mummy was extremely fascinated with the number of different expressions I can make while licking my face clean. Also, check out my yoghurt-coated goatee. Pity good things always finish way too quickly. I want more…
Mummy bought a Zuny classic dog bookend for who-knows-what-reason and named it Zuny (Creativity at its best huh) . She explained that Zuny was meant to be a door-stopper, but since our contractor added a stopper on the main door, Zuny became jobless and a ‘white elephant’. Since then, mummy ‘rehomed’ Zuny and the little guy became a dust-collector shelf display. We were never formally introduced and we pretty much minded our own business. But, I always felt that he looked down on me (not just literally). And for that, I was not pleased. On a bright sunny afternoon, I decided that it was time to settle our scores. I tried convincing him to come down for a “discussion” but he completed ignored me. Now what? I had to get him down, myself. Despite X attempts, Zuny just seemed to be able to evade my death grips jaws and I could not get him down. Seeing how annoyed and frustrated I was, heroic mummy decided to step in and got Zuny down to the couch. There, …
Peachy’s here for her second staycation with us. On the surface (or at least on photos), we appear as the sweet happy couple of direct opposites. But… what really goes on behind closed doors is… this. Yes. Peachy clearly wears the pants in the relationship. -_- I’m not saying I’m henpecked. I really do do my best to overpower her and be a ‘man’. Unfortunately, my efforts are futile. The truth is she is still DA BOSS. Sigh~ #mylifesucks A totally defeated me and my gloating girlfriend in the background. Boo~ As in all relationships, when it is futile to resist, you give in. And all will be good. I was too exhausted to fight back and just wanted to zzzz even when Peachy still wanted to play. Gosh, she is older yet she is wayyy more of an energize bunny than me. The only two instances where I am able to be a tad bit bossy are when… 1. The real boss Peachy is finally tired.. (and it takes a good while) Or …
We had a little family outing to the East Coast of the little red dot! As nice as the photos looked, it was a pretty circuitous journey getting there. Well, you see, the intention for this outing was to attend a pets events at ECP. And since we are commuting from the northwest to the far east, mummy wanted to go cycling as well. We decided to fit mummy’s and daddy’s foldable bicycles plus Sam’s little bike seat into GrandDaddy’s sedan. And boy, was it a challenge. Firstly, bringing two foldable bikes, a bike seat and a not-so-obedient dog down the lift wasn’t exactly a piece of cake. When we finally made it down, my parents spent a good twenty minutes trying to fit the bikes into both the back seats and the boot of the sedan. I swore I heard mummy heaved a sigh of relief when she realized that everything could fit afterall. Secondly, we discovered that mummy’s bike got slightly damaged during the transportation from NYC and that tyres of both bikes …
As a New Yorker, I was a frequent dog run goer. When we moved back, mummy was pretty keen to check out the dog run scene in Singapore. After some research, she found several dog runs and on a lovely weekday afternoon, we set out to explore the one nearest to us – the West Coast Park Dog Run, Hee, it was a nice little a family outing. Daddy’s two lovely nieces (which are also my human cousins), Grandmummy and Mummy tagged along. Just for me. *BEAMS~* While the dog run is opened to public, there are certain regulations to abide to. As I am just a harmless Jack Russell Terror, none of the breed restrictions applied to me and I was good to use the dog run. The dog run is crazy big! And unlike, the cement/gravel/asphalt texture commonly found in dog runs in NYC, it is GRASS!! REAL soft GRASS. *Wriggley dance* Unfortunately for my poor parents, (But extremely awesome for me) the grass was very muddy! No thanks to the thunderstorm …
