I’m happy and excited because… of my new toy. Peek-a-boo.. Here it is! Wondering what it is? Hee. It’s actually a cat teaser! Mummy got the Grreat Choice Leopard Print Ball cat teaser from Petsmart on a recent road trip and it’s the most awesome thing EVER. Mummy would use the toy to tease me (yes, I am a cat, remember?) and I would do everything I can to hunt it down. As I would jump non-stop just to get my jaws paws on it, mummy figured that the best place to play the game, is on the bed as the mattress would cushion the impact on my knees. That toy is like a prey that I want so bad (well, Jack Russells are hunting dogs) but it just keeps slipping out of my grip. WHY~~~ A patient hunter waits… and pounces at the right moment… Ta-dah~ got it! time for a perfect landing~ As the toy was originally made for cats, it’s really fragile. So the instance I get my jaws on it, mummy would …
Mummy and I (with a little reluctant help from daddy) completed our first art project using this.. my little paw. We got the inspiration from one of mummy’s favorite blogs, Pretty Fluffy. Since mummy happened to have the awesome martha stewart craft paints, we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately for me, the process wasn’t very enjoyable. I didn’t enjoy having paint on my paws and was struggling to get away. Poor mummy had to get daddy’s help to hold me still. Mummy initially wanted to explore various color combinations, but since I was such an uncooperative partner, she settled for the first color she tried – orange. (That also explains the lack of photos of the process.) A quick shot of me being pissy after the whole process. Blah~ Anyway, here’s the end product! Mummy found a temporary frame and put it in. While the process sucked a little, the end product was pretty awesome. (Plus tons of treats and tummy rubs were a great bonus.) Mummy got me to pose again, later …
Okay, Jack Russells weren’t exactly bred for swimming, but since most dogs are born natural swimmers, Mummy decided to get me started on swimming. (Might have been the olympic fever~) While we had been to the beach several times, I wasn’t exactly interested in swimming, more in chasing the waves and getting my paws (only) wet. Thus, I wasn’t that thrilled when I heard about mummy’s plans, but well, I’m always up for a challenge! So, bring it on~ Mummy found an indoor swimming pool just for dogs. The place is called Water4Dogs and provides social/open swims (for up to 6 dogs), rehabilitation sessions, exercise sessions and even fun sessions (private for just 1 dog). In addition, unlike human swimming pools where the water is treated with chlorine, the pool is treated with UV to kill the germs, making it safer for the dogs. We started off with a single exercise session with a therapist to evaluate if I’m suitable for swimming. (I have a luxating patella, but a real mild case.) After an exhausting 30 …
Since we covered the beach on our June trip to the west coast, my parents decided to embark on a different adventure this time and chose to go for a nice little hike. After some research, Daddy found a nice trail at the Pearson Arastradero Preserve. As not all trails are dog friendly, we had to drive a little further to get to one. But it sure was worth it! Lucky for me, the weather was awesome. Impatiently waiting for Daddy to grab a map at the visitors’ centre. After selecting the trail, off we went. (Hee, grandmummy came along and she sure was well prepared to prevent getting tanned.) The view was just breath-taking. (And the smells were great too.) The trail we went on was shared by cyclists, foot hikers and even equestrian hikers! We were overtaken by a horse midway. That was quite a sight. Stupid mummy just had to get a family photo. -_- Of course, I was too distracted to even pose. Sigh, everyone else is just too slow for …
I was on vacation~ kinda.. I flew to San Jose and attended Mummy’s cousin’s wedding! (And yes, I slept sat through a church wedding!) Hee, we stayed at Hyatt House at San Jose which was super dog friendly and I got tons of treats (nom nom nom~) and love! Anyway, now that we are finally back in NYC, I’ll update the photos soon!
A package of mine arrived today… (it’s from American Digs) And it contains two cool outfits for the fashionista me! 1. A seersucker dress shirt Something that would be awesome for a first date, maybe? The seersucker shirt is really well designed. There’s a velcro that is concealed by faux buttons, making it really easier for me to put it on while looking awesome. 2. A cool Murphy polo shirt that Daddy is a fan of too. Like Father Like Son, we are polo shirt boyz~ Hee, mummy actually bought these outfits for me to wear in Singapore. Can’t wait to show off my good looks in my awesome clothes to my new friends soon.
Since we were moving back to Singapore pretty soon, Mummy decided to organize a photoshoot for our family to capture our NYC adventure. It was a fun but exhausting experience. I was pooped by the time we got home. The photographer, Melissa from beIMAGED was awesome! (Hee, I got tons of yummy treats just by looking at her.) We finally received the hard copy of all the photographs and I’ve selected some of my best shots to showcase. We started from Central Park. My favorite spot in Central Park – The Ramble. Moved on to Times Square. Possibly my favorite shot – Hugs & kisses. Before finding a lovely street in Soho. Sigh, I’m such a good looking dog. =P Check out more lovely shots here.
A new toy came in the mail today! It’s a buddy rider! It’s a bicycle seat for dogs, just like me. When mummy and daddy bought their foldable bicycles a year ago, they were figuring ways on how I can tag along on their bike rides. Running on a leash beside them was totally out of the question as I would probably get run over. The first thought was to mount a basket on the front of the bike. Unfortunately for me, I was a tad bit over the weight limit. (Boo~) So the idea was axed. NEXT! The second idea was to mount a basket on the bicycle rack. Mummy went online and found a Pet Rider Rear Seat. When it arrived, we were so disappointed to find that it was too big for the rack and ended up returning it. NEXT! The third idea was to buy a doggy backpack carrier, so that mummy can carry me on her back when she cycles. Mummy found the Outward Hound Backpack and gave it a try. …
San Diego is amazing beyond words. It’s uber dog friendly and I’m loving every moment of being here. In fact, once I get back to NYC, I’m gonna pack my little bag and move over here for good. (Okay, mummy is glaring at me now. Guess it’s not gonna happen. Boo.) Anyway, my parents decided to do some window shopping and managed to find a dog friendly mall, Otay Ranch Town Center. And boy were we in a pleasant surprise when we got there! There’s actually a dog park within the shopping area! Yipeee~ The whole area is also dog friendly (I was allowed in most stores) and there were several dogipot pet stations located around the mall. We were even more surprised when we found the dog park. It’s BIG and GRASSY! (*does a little wriggly dance*) The wall art is actually little paw paint prints of dogs that frequent the park! Too clever. The big dog area is nice and big. Unfortunately, the small dog area is a little pathetic, but thankfully the …
