From Bangkok with love..

My parents went for a short vacation to Bangkok.  Yes, they abandoned me. Nasty people right? Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time and I’m quite sure it won’t be the last.  Boo~ Anyway, as per all other trips, they came back with tons of loot for me! (It’s their way of compensation to me, and hey, I’m certainly not complaining!) The first and foremost – Treats. Tons and tons of treats. Hee, Mummy loves buying treats that ain’t available in Singapore to give me some variety! And yes, pizza is on the menu. *Wriggley dance* Of course, with mummy as the main shopper, non-sensical gifts are just part and parcel of my overseas souvenirs. I’m not fond of them in general, but whatever… Since I do look dashing in the bow-tie, I guess I will make do. Done with the usual, expected stuff. Time for some out of the box products! One of the highlights of the trip for Mummy is to check out thai designer dog products. And boy was she blown away! Introducing …

Dog Hash #3

We went for our 3rd hash experience last weekend. And it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E! My ballsy parents decided to let me off leash and I did everything I could to make them regret their decision to do so. How not to when Mummy and Daddy were so freaking slow and I was way ahead of them (and almost everyone else). Yes, I did hear a crazy woman screaming her lungs out (I think she was calling for “SAM” ?), but who gives a shit when the forest is just so exciting! How do you know if you had fun?  See how dirty you are. Check out my before and after.  *Proud Grinz* My best moment had to be when I was swimming in the long kang (canal). Believe it anot, I actually ran down that uber steep slope to get to the bottom of the drain. This is the best swim ever! Of course, one reason why I loved it was that my parents were pretty annoyed with having to chase after me as that meant that they …

Sam is a Happy Dog!

I generally have shitty luck when I take part in giveaways or competitions. And yes, I blame Mummy.  Hee, but I think Lady Luck’s smiling on me this time cos I finally won a 2.5 kg bag of “my little” Irland from Happy Dog Singapore! The kind people actually delivered the bag to our doorstop. Woohoo~  I’m really excited to start on new yummy food! Mummy says she will start once she gets back from her trip. I can’t wait! Thank you Happy Dog – for the bag of nom nom and more importantly, for saying I’m a handsome dog. Ho ho ho.  Shhhhh.. but I think so too..

Sam by the river…

It has been a while since we headed out for a nice Sam-welcomed brunch. Since it was Daddy’s birthday, we just had to pamper ourselves and set out for a family meal. Deciding where to go was easy. Mummy was introduced to eM by the River by some taitai friends of hers. On her first visit there, she was pleasantly surprised to see two (overly) yappy poodles chilling out on the couches in the indoor space while their owners enjoyed their lunch. Since then, she has been mentioning that she wanted to bring me here. Guess she finally found the right time to. Daddy preaching (*yawns*) while we were waiting to be seated. Although we didn’t make reservations, we were pretty lucky to be seated beside the river. Mummy was actually hoping to be indoors where I can actually chill on the couch. Unfortunately, the indoor seatings are designed for bigger groups.  Maybe next time. Happy me with my parents.  Geesh, they both needa work on their hair…  Enjoying the lovely weather and good river view. …

Sam’s little lunch bag!

The reason behind my ever increasing waistline (sigh~) was the lack of control over the amount of treats I got while I was at my grandparents’.  “But..maaaa~”  That’s no such thing as too many treats!!!! Pity my stupid parents do not seem to agree. As a result, Mummy decided to ration my daily meal portions and bring them over to the helper that watches me in the day. She started by using zip-loc bags, which she quickly realised wasn’t exactly environment friendly (Time to cut down my carbon pawprints). She moved on to Daiso boxes which were pretty useful. However, she always had to bring the boxes in ugly plastic bags there. And being mud-brain Mummy, she would often forget to bring either the boxes or the bags back.  So, on one of her “I-need-to-hit-USD125-to-qualify-for-free-amazon-shipping” shopping sprees, she decided that I deserve a nice little lunch bag of my own. Okay, considering the bag is half my height, it’s not that little. Introducing my Skip Hop Zoo Lunchies Insulated Lunch Bag.  Of course it’s a …

Wooga-ing…

The two weeks Grandmummy’s previous helper went home for a visit (and never came back), Mummy sent me to my very first daycare in Singapore – WOOGA! It took Mummy a long long long LONG time to decide upon a daycare. When we were in NYC, there were tons of quality daycare (although prices can be a little steep) within walking distance of our apartment and finding one was easy breezy. However, in Singapore, the daycares’ quality just did not meet Mummy’s expectations. Despite spending a good month or so researching and looking around, none caught her eye. A couple that she did like were either too expensive or just too out of the way. Till she finally stumbled upon Wooga!  So why Wooga? 1. Vicinity (it’s just 5 minutes drive away) 2. Affordability ($26 for up to 12 hours!) – Mummy had to drop me off at 7am to rush off to work and pick me up at close to 7pm, so the long hours and affordability were godsend. 3. Plenty of walks and playtime – …

My little Basket!

Mummy brought home a cute little basket from Egg3 a couple of days ago. I was quite fascinated by it and could not stop checking it out. Mummy: I’ll bring you gai gai (shopping) if you can fit in the basket! Challenge accepted. After some wriggling, all 6.9kg of me sat comfortably in the little wicker basket!  I’m ready, Mummy. Let’s go! I kinda realised I got cheated once again when all Mummy did after I got in, was to stand there and laugh at me. *face paw-pad* (The dog version of face-palm) Giving Mummy the “I hate you” face. Stupid woman… I was stuck refused to get out and Mummy had to tilt the basket to get me out of it. Once she did that, she revealed the real purpose of the basket – to store the stray slippers by the door! To take revenge, I decided to photobomb! Hey, at least I gave a happy face k. Well, since the basket wasn’t exactly the most comfortable of traveling modes, I didn’t mind that …

Mid-Autumn treats for SAM – Dog mooncakes!

Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner! Being American and having lived in NYC for a good part of my life, I know nuts about this occasion.  Plus, why bother.  Till I realise that….when humans celebrate this day, they do so by enjoying mooncakes. And guess what, apparently there are doggy versions of this festive treat as well! *Wriggly dance* Introducing Mooncakes for Dogs, by Pawlicious Bakery! (source) When Mummy saw this, she knew she had to get it.. FOR ME! With Daddy’s pocket (each cost $5.50) and my waistline in mind, she decided to get just three flavours.  The cute dog mooncakes look every bit like the ones mummy eats!  And I can’t wait to begin! Pardon my ‘stone’ face. It’s just that I’m dead tired after a good afternoon swim and Mummy kept insisting on taking pictures before I could start eating. zzzzz I want to eat them and go to sleep.  Hurry~ As three at a go is a tad bit much for a little dog like me, we decided to start …

I’m a H&M Dog!

During one of the shoots for the Aug/Sep issue, Mummy fell in love with a H&M silk Beagle print handkerchief that was used as a bandana for one of the pups. (Under the influence of Uncle Bryan!) And she knew she had to have it… for me, of course.  (source: pets Magazine) It took a while before it finally hit the stores. Well, STORE technically as it’s only available at H&M Orchard (under the men’s section). When I got my paws on the scarf, I was a bit lost. I mean, I don’t usually blow my nose or sneeze into a hankie.  So what is this for? *confused* So I did the worst thing I could possibly have done by asking Mummy what it was for. Seeing that I didn’t realise that it was to be used as a bandana, she decided to pull a prank on me and made me wear it as a head scarf..  I HATE YOU!!!!! Grrrrr~ Now I look like the granny/auntie below. *curses under his breath* !@#!@$@!%@#% (source) To make …
