When Peachy came to visit…

I hosted a house guest over the weekend – my ‘girlfriend’, Peachy! Peachy is my direct opposite.  She is a 4 year old Jack Russell, smooth coat, short legs and pointy ears.  I am a 3 year old Jack Russell, rough coat, long legs and floppy ears, Hee, we make a good couple, don’t we? We both smile charmingly. We both love begging for treats. We both love to wrestle. And love to play fetch! Getting ready! “Throw the ducky, Mummy!” “Ho ho ho, I got it! Nope, it’s mine.” After a twist, Peachy managed to steal it from me. Grrrrrrr… Quietly stalking and waiting for my chance to get ducky back… A very happy girl! When we got bored of fetching and stalking, we decided to get involved in a game of tug.  Yes, we both love to tug! “Give it to me! Grrrr…” We were exhausted after two good hours of play!  Time for a break! Last but not least, we both love to cuddle!

Made with Love~

After the Milo Kitchen’s treats scare, mummy started being rather picky when choosing treats for me. She is careful to purchase only treats made in the USA, Singapore or Japan. As a result, treats became kinda costly and Daddy NEVER fails to nag mummy whenever she walks into a pet store.  (sorry mummy.. boo daddy) Mummy did some research and found out that she could make good quality treats (without worrying about what horrible ingredients are inside) at a fraction of the cost in the comforts of our home! One easy way is to use a food dehydrator! She found a great pet treat maker by Open Country on amazon.  After a good 5 months of purchasing it, she finally put it into use!  Eagerly waiting for what’s to come.  Presenting the food dehydrator.  The dehydrator uses a heat and air flow to dehydrate the foods (reduce water content). Removing moisture prevents bacteria from growing and food from spoiling. Hence, treats made could be kept longer. Mummy went to NTUC and purchased some lean minced Australian …

Sam the monkey Rescuer!

Remember my rescue missions in New York? My missions ended when we had to relocate back. BUT!!! The lovely people from Water4Dogs adored me so much that they actually gave me my very own monkey as a farewell gift. Awww~ It’s mine, mine, MINE! While I was all excited to start rescuing my very own monkey, Stupid mummy chose to ship the monkey by sea!  I almost died waiting! After 2 long months of waiting, it finally arrived! Woohoo~ And on an awesome day, we set out for some monkey rescue missions!!! Monkey in distress! Here I come!!!!! Bringing him to safety! “Hm..monkey actually tasted pretty good.” “Oh what? I’m not supposed to eat him?” OOOOoooooops. Nevermind then. I’ll just parade with him in my mouth. Proud monkey rescuer giving the poor monkey some first aid! CPR with one paw! After two good hours of repeated rescues (the stupid monkey just could not seem to stay out of the water), I was a wet and exhausted dog! Guess now, I’m officially Sam the INTERNATIONAL monkey …

My New Ride..

Mummy borrowed an “Auntie” trolley from Grandma for some CNY shopping. While wheeling it back to the car, I decided to hitch a quick ride! To prevent my little paws from being uncomfortable or getting caught in the metal grille, mummy thoughtfully placed my portable doggy bed on the base of the trolley.  Presenting my new ride! ta da~ No surprises, Grandma wasn’t too pleased to see her grocery shopping trolley become my new ride. But who cares, lazy Sammy Loo is loving it!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR…

My grandmummy (Paternal) bought me a new outfit for the lunar new year.  Unfortunately, while all the adults are absolutely amused by how cute I look in the outfit, I certainly wasn’t very happy. I HATE wearing clothes.  So, I was really pissy when mummy put it on.  -_- Throwing dirty looks at mummy. Seeing how unpleased I was, mummy gave me a pep talk about the benefits of wearing the outfit – acting cute allows me to collect more ang baos containing $$! Really? *Beams* She demonstrated by giving me my very first ang bao for the season.  Woohoo~ (Hee, but I decided to be cheeky nonetheless and thus stuck my tongue out.) Okay, a more serious look. After which, we went on to practice the new year greetings. Sam: “HAPPY NEW YEAR. GONG XI GONG XI.” Once we were set, we started doing our rounds (house hopping) to collect ang baos.  We started with my paternal grandmummy’s place. DONE! Next, we headed to (maternal) grandma’s place. DONE! Mummy decided to let me off …

Riding Shotgun..

One of the perks of being back in Singapore is endless car rides! Wheee~ And to make things even better, I get to ride shotgun when mummy picks Daddy up after work! Acting all prim and proper.  Hee, I’m wearing a bow tie as Daddy’s colleagues wanted to meet me! (Well, don’t I just look so smart in it?) Waiting for Daddy’s course to end. Anyway, (almost) everyone was mesmerized by me when they met me!  Hee, how not to? Cos I’m SAMMY LOO! And I got so many hugs and kisses! Can’t wait till the next time mummy heads out to pick daddy up!

The after party!

Well, my birthday celebration didn’t just end with lunch.  Since it was my special special day, I was entitled to have a blast!  Woohoo~ *Little wriggly dance* It continued with Mummy allowing me to roam the whole compound! I started by exploring the surroundings of the cafe.. (Kinda hoping to find some food crumbs but failed miserably. -_- ) After which, I ventured off to the grassy areas. Off I went~ Then I spotted something… A DOGGY POOL!! I was extremely obsessed with finding the entrance into the pool and could not stop running around the fence. Unfortunately, the pool was completely fenced up. Unlike the rest of the compound which is open (free) to the public, there’s an entry charge for the usage of the pool.  I refused to give up! Oh oh , and a really Cute candid shot of me! Mummy was contemplating if she should let me swim. While I’m a really strong swimmer, she was worried that I might throw up after swimming due to the yummy lunch I just …

The day i turned one two THREE!

On 26th January 2013, me, little Sammy Loo Lim, turned 3.  Due to the huge move back and Daddy being away, mummy’s initial plan of throwing a birthday party for me went down the drain. She decided to keep it simple by bringing me out for a birthday lunch. After some research, she chose the K9 cafe by K9 Kulture located at turf city.  K9 Kulture occupies a pretty huge lot that is completely fenced in. Once we walked through the double gate, I was free to roam around the whole compound.  Sigh, the joys of being off leashed~ Oh oh, and the cafe is fully air conditioned! Yes, dogs are allowed inside too! Wheeeeeeeee A furkids menu just for cute dogs like me.  After some thought, I decided to try the beef meatballs!   What’s a birthday without a birthday cake! Mummy asked me to choose my own cake and I chose the only ‘manly’ cake – the blue one.  I got to act like an adult and even sat on the chair like the …

My little photoshoot…

Remember the family photoshoot we had last july? While mummy was in love with how the photos turned out, she was a little disappointed that I looked bored in most of the shots. Hence, she decided that she would have a photoshoot of me. Yap, just me.  After scouting for a while (on a pretty limited budget), she found a photographer friend who happened to be fundraising for her upcoming marathon for the shoot.  Choosing the location for the photoshoot was easy breezy. Yap, no surprises, it was at Central Park!  Not to mention that, Central Park in Autumn was an excellent setting too! It took a little while for me to get my paws on the photos but good things are definitely worth the wait. So, here goes… Lastly, my favorite shot of the session.  Just sammy and mummy. Hee, mummy was totally unprepared to be in the shoot (thus she kinda looked like shit. shhh..). But still, i think the shot totally captured how much she adores me. PS, I love you too …
