Sam is a Happy Dog!

I generally have shitty luck when I take part in giveaways or competitions. And yes, I blame Mummy.  Hee, but I think Lady Luck’s smiling on me this time cos I finally won a 2.5 kg bag of “my little” Irland from Happy Dog Singapore! The kind people actually delivered the bag to our doorstop. Woohoo~  I’m really excited to start on new yummy food! Mummy says she will start once she gets back from her trip. I can’t wait! Thank you Happy Dog – for the bag of nom nom and more importantly, for saying I’m a handsome dog. Ho ho ho.  Shhhhh.. but I think so too..

Wooga-ing…

The two weeks Grandmummy’s previous helper went home for a visit (and never came back), Mummy sent me to my very first daycare in Singapore – WOOGA! It took Mummy a long long long LONG time to decide upon a daycare. When we were in NYC, there were tons of quality daycare (although prices can be a little steep) within walking distance of our apartment and finding one was easy breezy. However, in Singapore, the daycares’ quality just did not meet Mummy’s expectations. Despite spending a good month or so researching and looking around, none caught her eye. A couple that she did like were either too expensive or just too out of the way. Till she finally stumbled upon Wooga!  So why Wooga? 1. Vicinity (it’s just 5 minutes drive away) 2. Affordability ($26 for up to 12 hours!) – Mummy had to drop me off at 7am to rush off to work and pick me up at close to 7pm, so the long hours and affordability were godsend. 3. Plenty of walks and playtime – …

My Triangle Travel Quilt!

You know your mother is crazy obsessed..erm.. I mean selfless when she buys a present for you for her birthday!  Ho ho ho … After eyeing at this item for close to two months since she first saw in on Pretty Fluffy, Mummy finally took the plunge on this very purchase. It’s her birthday present to herself, or so she says… (I’m quite sure Daddy footed the credit card bill.. shhhhh)  Who cares, since I’m the one to benefit. *GRINZ* And..word has it that  (*puts on a fake british accent) this lovely package came from the land my breed originated – Yap, you guessed it right, this was fresh from…ENGLAND! OPEN IT! Wondering what it is? Huh?!  That’s it?! I can barely fit…. (Yet another sign it’s time to lose weight…dang~) Nay…just kidding.. Introducing my Triangle Travel Quilt by East End Best Friend!! Designed and hand-made in Hackney, East London, this gorgeous quilted travel mat is just the right thing for a hip little terrier like me! Best of all, the quilt is actually machine-washable! Certainly a god-send …

The Green Mini Interactive Feeder!

Mummy brought home an interesting product recently.  I was quite fascinated by it and couldn’t quite figure out what it was exactly. It’s a toy… NO! it’s a bowl… NO! It’s a……  Green Mini Interactive Feeder! This specially designed feeder is shaped just like at tuft of grass (it consists of 32 grass-like blades). Besides acting as obstacles to prolong eating time, they make access to food complicated, making it challenging and possibly more interesting for the eater. I’m far from being a fast eater. While I gobble down treats like they are the best things on earth (wait, they are!), I approach my kibbles with a lot LESS enthusiasm. In fact, it’s always a struggle to get me to start eating, let alone get me to finish my food. Hence, Mummy thought that this would be a great toy to get me slightly more interested in my food since it will make my mealtime a fun and enjoyable activity! I’ve to admit that I was quite intrigued by it and couldn’t wait to test …

Shhhh.. Hear Doggy!

(Yet) Another awesome perk of Mummy’s internship (besides my free exposure on pets magazine) is that she is able to get her hands on new innovative toys!  So, on one lovely evening, Mummy came home with a grin. She came up to me and told me that she bought me a new toy! Of course, from the corner of my eye, I could see Daddy giving the “not again” face. Too bad for you, Daddy and goooooood for me! I was pretty excited to see what Mummy got for me. Presenting the surprise – a Hear Doggy! squeaky stuffy! I was uber excited about the starfish stuffy and could not wait to sink my teeth in it! I was 100% focused on my new mission in life – attack the starfish while it cries squeaks for mercy, kill the squeaker and remove all its stuffing!! RAWR…  Before I could even begin, I felt that there was something different about this squeaky toy.  In the past, each time Mummy squeezes the toy to squeak it, Daddy …

All in a day’s work…

I’m officially a grown up.  Why?  Cos’ after 3+ years off leeching of a rather grumpy ill-fated sweet daddy, I finally earned my own keep. *Ka-ching ka-ching*  Mummy’s colleague found me a PAID modeling gig – I got to film a promotional video for a soon-to-launch condo! While the video won’t be aired on TV, it will be on facebook and youtube!  Good enough, good enough.  My parents were more excited about the gig than I was! In fact, mummy ordered daddy to take leave for the day to accompany me. LOL After enduring a horrid bath and an equally bad thorough brushing the night before, we set out for the shoot on a lovely sunny morning!  It was a looooong drive and I had no idea why the hell I was when we arrived. Mummy initially thought that it was going to be an indoor shoot in the showroom or something like that, hence she was a little startled when she realised that the shoot was taking place at Sengkang riverside park. I could see mummy …

Dash…

Mummy’s mentor at work, Uncle Bryan, mentioned about a group of hash enthusiasts who organizes monthly hashes at different parts of Singapore. There will be a pre-laid trail that is set by one or two volunteers (aka Hares) who have recced and marked out the route prior to the actual hash. What’s unique about this group of hashers is that it is canine-friendly, hence the name “Dash“! This awesome group welcomes dog lovers and their pets to join them on the first saturday of the month (rain or shine). Each route will last no more than an hour and is suitable for participants of all fitness level. Oh, and to celebrate the completion of each hash, there will be booze (*wriggly dance*), drinks and food at the end point! Dang, that’s life! Mummy was super excited to hear about it and couldn’t wait to join. I was pretty keen too! Of course, Daddy was giving mummy the “Do I have to go too?” face. Not surprisingly, Daddy DID join us in the end.  Haha.. sucker~ So, …

Sam’s Day Out – III Cafe

Daddy had to work today, hence, Daddy-substitue my girlfriend mummy’s friend, Auntie Q joined us on our quest this week!  We ventured to a busy stretch of shophouses, near Siglap, to a nice little Sam-welcomed venue – III Cafe! Opened in December 2012, this open-concept second floor cafe is fully air-conditioned and pets like Sammy Loo are welcomed to roam off-leashed! Hooray! Waiting to head in… Check out the huge space for me to run around!  The down side was that there was a small children party happening. Interestingly, that group of people didn’t have a single dog. Guess they were attracted to the spacious venue too. Unfortunately for me, I had to be kept on leash till the crowd dispersed as mummy wasn’t too keen for me to go sniffing around the kids.  Boo~ We were initially seated at a window seat with normal dining chairs and I had to sit on the floor. Luckily for me, a booth seat opened up and we shifted over.  Of course, I got myself comfortable pretty quickly! …

Made with Love – Mini Omelette for Sammy!

Another reason I love weekends – I get yummy made with love meals!  This week’s special was inspired by a recipe from Pawsh Magazine! It’s yummy mini Salmon Omelette! Ingredients needed are: – Two Eggs – A few slices of smoked Salmon – One small carrot and a floret of brocoli; finely chopped (The original recipe calls for green peppers, but mummy isn’t confident that I’ll be interested in that, hence she decided to replace that with other veggie choices that I kinda like.) This is yet another hassle free recipe that is really easy to make. Simply crack the eggs directly into a lightly greased (Mummy used olive oil) ramekin, before adding all the other ingredients and then mix everything together. Wala~ That’s it. (Though I have to admit that the mixture before stirring doesn’t exactly look appetizing.) Oh oh, mummy added a pinch of parsley just to give it a taste of herb. Once evenly mixed, just place the ramekin in the pre-heated oven and wait.  Impatiently wait… *Trembles* And after 15 minutes, …

Run Forest Run…

Before mummy’s camera battery died on Saturday, she was trying hard to capture me in action running.  (This time, I didn’t have a leash on as the whole area in K9 Kulture is fenced in. And boy, that felt great!) RUN FOREST RUN!!! I’M IN THE AIR!!!  FLY, LITTLE SAMMY! Leaping off! Nothing beats the feeling of being able to run free with the awesome breeze blowing at my face!  (Hee, I was running so fast that I had to close my eyes to prevent the wind from hurting my little eye!) Gosh, I am such a sprinter! Daddy once mentioned that the one thing he loves about me is my ability to run around in lightning speed while getting other dogs to chase me. Pity there wasn’t any other dogs there at that time, but I sure did have an awesome workout and Daddy was all smiles watching me! Of course, I reserved some energy for the swim too.. hee…  And as expected, my parents brought a half-dead and truly exhausted little dog home …
