We’re moving!

Like for real. Not the blog hor. #wemovingfromululandtocivilisation So, in less than a month, I will no longer be Sam, the HDB dog and Pecan will no longer be ‘illegal’. Hehehe #shenotillegalla #shebelongstograndmummy #likeanyonewillbelieve While the move is extremely exciting, the packing is…. blah~ And if you see the way our Mummy packs, I think you will vomit blood. #mummyisaclosethoarder I guess that’s why our parents have decided to hire a professional moving company that provides packing and unpacking services.  #ifnotIthinktheywillneverbedone #lazytothemax  Unlike our parents, we’re responsible kiddos. Like good doggies, we spent our whole weekend packing! Ah ma being a girl obviously has more things and a wayyyy bigger suitcase. #mysuitcaseonlyhastreats #pecanfinallykeptallhersqueakytoys See.. Moving is so easy breezy… And so you think… If you seriously believed that’s all we have, you obviously haven’t been reading our blog enough. Because… just beds alone… this is what we really have.. #lookslikethishouseholdgot10dogslor Ah ma and the pea. LOL The irony of all this…  is that, while we have all these cushiony comforts, our favourite sleeping spot (in the …

Our little thoughts

Mummy has been so busy with work and falling sick that we’re starting to feel a tad neglected. Oh well, so me and Pecan decided to let our thoughts be heard with the help of a little illustration.. And guess what.. Great minds think alike! We were wishing for the same thing! Cannot stop smacking my lips just thinking about it. #onlygotoneillustrationsonochoicewehavetothinkthesamethink #butithinkilookcuterhor #cannotlosetoahma Hopefully, now that Mummy has more time on her hands, let’s hope that she keeps to her promise and update our blog more! #thelackofpostistotallyherfault

How we spent our saturday…

While lazy bums were still lazing in bed, these two early worms (one fat, one smelly) had already gotten a ton of exercise under their waistlines belts. #yapourlazymummyactuallymanagedtodragherbuttoutofbed #itwasamiracle Yap, this was how we spent our weekend – running around our favourite dog park, playing fetch. Well, to be exact, one dog was working the fetch.  The other was just… blocking the way. #fetchlastillgottimesmileatcamera #cannotbelieveshecanbesocameraready But again, I am such a pro and ah ma has zilch chance la. It’s no wonder she isn’t usually interested in vying with me. #cannotwinsaysola #nochancelor #yayasam  Look at this cowboy go man. #sopowerright Concentration. Concentration. Of course, when there are good days, there will be bad days. #shithappens #alamak Hey, but I’m still darn good k. #arrogantbrat Don’t you just feel like slapping this yaya face? HEHEHEHEHEHE… Since Pecan has no chance in even getting near to the ball with me around, she decided to just fool around with the camera instead. #goofygranny #四连拍  We did come a long way from home to get here (our house too …

A ride in a beetle

We were invited by Volkswagen Singapore to take one of their cars for a test drive. Although our trusty Gin has been pretty reliable for the past year, Mummy was more than glad to ditch him for the weekend for a sleeker ride. #soheartlesshor Hence, there was no way we could even refuse the offer! #mummyisindeedcheapo We stopped by the showroom to pick up our ride and also took the opportunity to ‘mark’ our territory around the vicinity. HEHEHEHEHE #sorrynotsorry Our shallow Mummy was blown away the moment our ride drove up.  But to be honest, it was difficult not to be. Afterall, it was none other than the iconic Volkswagen Beetle! #sostunnedthatsheactuallyforgottotakepictureofitlor How chic is this???? Although the stars decal was part of their design for the recent Night Festival, Mummy loved how it added a extra touch of pizzazz to the already stylish Beetle. #isworeshewasgrinningwhiledrivingitlor #maybethat’showunclesinferrarisfeel #theyayafaceofhers To be honest, we were secretly enjoying how this compact ride turns heads and corners equally well.  #showingoff We were as excited about the Beetle as she was.  Until we …

Sam tested: QuickGrab

We’ve reviewed treats and services, but certainly not poop bags. Hence, when Auntie Sue Ann dropped Mummy an email about reviewing QuickGrab Fragranced Dog Litter Disposal Bags, she just couldn’t say no! #mummyisacheapola #anythingfreeshealsowant I guess it’s always fun to try something different out. #ifyougiveusfreecupcakeswewillreviewANYTHING As a pup, I used to have a habit of eating poop.  Not my own poop, but other dog’s.  And I loved mine fresh out of the ‘oven’. I actually ran to a pooping Doberman and stood behind his butt to catch the fresh bake that was coming out of the ‘tap’. #mummywasscreamingherlungsoffwhenthathappened #thiswasthereasonwhymyparentsdontletmelicktheirfaces #theystilldontallowme Of course, Mummy wasn’t impressed a bit. Plus, she even earned the title of poop picker by her friends as the first thing she would do when she entered any dog runs was to pick up lying piles. I guess this was when she developed a preference for good poop bags and is really particular about them. She used to use Dogs on Board poop bags and recently switched to Earth Rated Poop Bags. Like me, they are …

Keeping us busy

We know how pesky Jack Russells can be. #wearenotcalledjackrussellterrorsfornothing It is a constant fight for Mummy to keep us out of trouble.  Despite weekly swims and multiple walks daily, we do still give Mummy dirty looks to express our boredom once in a while. #entertainusorelse #thedeathstare #yeswearejudgingyou That being said, combating our boredom is no easy feat. In fact, it’s a major headache for Mummy.   Pecan and I are polar opposite.  I am really smart. And I mean REALLY smart. WAHHAHAHAHAH #whosaysselfpraiseisnopraise #itisthehighestofpraisesk Give me a treat toy and I can figure it out in seconds. #worsecometoworsejustusebrutestrengthlor #nothingmyjawscannotdefeat On the other hand, Pecan ah ma is…let’s just say slow. #stupidisstupidla  Unlike me, she doesn’t have the intellect (I mean) patience to overcome treat toys. So while most toys work for me, they don’t do the same for her. Toys that work for her, are like a yawn for me man. Hence, it is a challenge for Mummy to find toys that can keep both of us occupied.  But Mummy being Mummy (someone who is extremely obsessed …

Barking Good: Pee-Can-Bites

Anyway, some of you may know that our dearest Pecan ah ma went for a dental scaling recently.  We knew that Pecan ah ma’s scaling was due. But Mummy was rather hesitant as she really did not want to put Pecan under anaesthesia if possible. However, after consulting with as many as four different vets, Mummy got the consensus that the procedure was a necessity. Oh well~  So in ah ma went. (And out went $1.2k from Daddy’s pocket!) Pecan isn’t the most cooperative pooch at the vet (she’s a pain like me!).  #likebrotherlikesister #cannotletthevetbullyuslor So during the initial consultation, Mummy was told that at least three teeth needed to be extracted. There might be more, just that the vet couldn’t tell as of then. But what Mummy didn’t expect was that these many teeth had to go…. YAP, they all belonged to Pecan. #toothfairyisgonnabebroke In case you’re wondering how many came out…. Mummy wanted to keep them, so the vet obliged and packed it for us.  #weirdsouvenirs #cankeepiscankeepjustnotonpecan While Pecan’s bad breath is finally …

Car Safety 101

Okay la, this isn’t exactly Car Safety 101.  Mummy recently made some changes to the way we travel in the car and guess what…  we’re absolutely loving it! This was how we used to ride – shotgun.  And we absolutely loved it, even though our combined weight always triggers the annoying seatbelt warning beep.  Hehehehe… #inotfat #Iisbigboned #itispecan’sfault Best part of car rides then, was when we got to peep out and enjoy a nice breeze. Sam: “The guy is eating an ice-cream!!!” Pecan: “Where? Where?” But things ain’t the same in the Loo Lim Household anymore. #boohoohoo It started with a convo between Mummy and Auntie Kristina (Pecan’s trainer). Auntie Kristina was sharing about how a car seat restraint for her dog possibly saved his life when she got into an accident with him in the car.  And that got Mummy thinking.  In addition, Mummy always judges people who let their kids (especially toddlers and infants) sit on their laps, instead of on child seats. #thatgrindshergears Of course, she would quietly remind herself that …

Made with Love: Pumpkin-pork treats

After watching episode after episode of Cupcake Wars (yap, she indulges in trashy shows), Mummy developed an itch for baking.  So, naturally, that means more home made goodies for us! Wheeeeee~ #godblesstrashyrealitytv Introducing our very own Dog-friendly Pumpkin Pork Cookies! And trust us, it is outta the world! #lickspawsinsatisfaction  What you need: This makes about 80 cookies! (Yap, Mummy’s trying to kill us with cookies. But hey, we ain’t complaining.) 3 cups of wheat flour (replace this with a grain-free flour if your dog is prone to allergies) 1 egg 300g of lean pork One half of a pumpkin 2 tablespoons of parsley 1 tablespoon of coconut oil  Do keep some water and excess flour on hand too. And we shall not forget the most important tool of the day – dog-shaped cookie cutters from Muji! What to do: 1. Preheat oven to 175 Degree Celsius. 2. Cut both the pumpkin and lean pork meat into slices and boil till soft and cooked. 3. Blend the mixture into puree form. 4. Pour the puree, flour, …
