A dog’s box!

Who says boxes are only for cats? As a Canis Lupus familiaris (aka dogs), we can be rather fond of this magic cardboard too! One of Daddy’s online shopping (prob one of his war hammy related stuff) came in an extremely big box. Just when Daddy was about to toss it out, Mummy had an idea and decided to let us have some fun with it. So with a penknife, she cut over a couple of openings and viola~ My little boxy fortress! It was pretty awesome. It was so much fun hiding in it. Hee, I swear Mummy couldn’t find me and kept walking past me without realizing! #myfortisinformidable  A happy camper in his little fort. Sigh~  Too bad for me, Pecan ah ma decided that she wanted to join in the fun as well.  So she forcefully squeezed in MY the box with me. #notimpressed Ah ma clearly loves it too.  (Spot me sulking in the background?) She was small enough to weave in and out of the cutouts. Not pleased that my privacy …

Say a little doggy prayer…

Mummy says that if I pray for something, it might just come true. So I gave it a shot… “I want some treats….please oh please” And VIOLA~ I was rewarded with some of my favorite treats in the world – Dear Deer Kneecaps and Neck steaks! Mummy swears by them as they are the very few treats that can keep me occupied for as long as thirty minutes! The rest are usually gone in seconds.  (Shhh, I love it so much that I will also growl when Mummy attempts to come near me when I’m enjoying one.) Of course, being the sweetheart I always am, I was more than glad to share some with Pecan ah ma.  We were so excited.  In fact, ah ma couldn’t stop drooling! #sogross So typical of the un-ladylike Pecan.  And when we finally each got one… the rest was history.  We gave Mummy the thirty minutes of peace she deserved while we gnawed to our hearts’ delight! Shall add it to my mid-year resolution to say a little prayer …

Our weekly groom

It’s time for something we anticipate weekly… Our weekly brush! It usually starts out with a round of furminator, which me and Pecan ah ma HATE! Mummy has to wrestle us to get that done, hence no pics, We dislike it as it can get a little pricky when she combs us. But Mummy’s a fan as it is really effective in removing stray hair. Thankfully, the second part of our weekly groom is wayy more bearable. Actually, it’s even kinda enjoyable! Using a pin brush, Mummy tries to neaten our coat and scratch any other stray hair left behind. It really feels darn good! As if we were having a good belly scratch! If you’re wondering if Jack Russells shed. Yes, we do. In fact, we shed a new dog everyday. There was so much hair that it could be rolled into a fur ball! Maybe we should do something with that hair.  Like weave it into a toy? We were brainstorming for some cool ideas. Of course, as usual, Mummy has other plans. …

Happy birthday Smiggle!

Remember Smiggle, the American Cocker Spaniel who had a crush on me? I was actually invited to her birthday present last weekend. #cannothelpthatIampopular Hee, her party was held at Paw Pet-radise as well.  Although it was held at the same venue, I was really impressed that her buffet spread of dog goodies was different from that of Cole’s.  Plus, I love how nice the presentation is. My only complaint – the yummy food was placed too high on a wall-table. Like that how I reach?! In the end, I had to rely on Mummy to get food for me. Likewise, the humans were stealing food meant for the dogs!! I saw Mummy and her group of friends going for second, third and even fourth servings of the fruits that were meant for us! PUI how can?! Happy birthday Smiggle! One more with the little birthday girl! Not only did I have a great spread of food, we were each given a Fetch-Box with a plushie in it as a take-home gift! Can’t decide which to …

Craftholic bunny!

Mummy and Daddy went shopping for a birthday presents today and along the way, they also stopped by Craftholic to buy each of our four cousins a small stuffy each. While looking around, one of the bunnies caught Mummy’s eye and she thought that it would suit Pecan perfectly! So she attempted to convince Daddy. Of course, his first reaction was ‘No’. Typical~ But after some persuasion, Daddy gave it and bought something for all the little girls in his life! Mummy – 2314231231 vs Daddy – 0 And when they brought it home, Pecan ah ma was over the moon! Fitting her small built like a T. She’s totally owning it. You think it’s the end of the story? Tsk tsk tsk… Nooooooo… of course not. Ho ho ho… When Mummy called her over to the kitchen to reward her for posing for the shots, I did what any rascal cunning dog normal boy will do. I STOLE HER BED. WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA  It’s so comfy~~ Me likey~  Now I’m a little upset why Daddy din’t buy …

Our newest toy – An Instax Share Printer!

So Mummy had her eyes on an Instax Share printer for a long loooong while. The only thing was that it was a little costly. And when she finally couldn’t take it anymore, she sent Daddy the link and requested for him to buy it for her as a gift. And that almost THREE weeks ago. Everyday for three weeks, Mummy would come home expecting a parcel for her.  But it never came. Why? Cos Daddy kept forgetting. Mummy would always end up disappointed and proceed to nag Daddy to buy it soon. Tsk tsk tsk “Daddy, how can like that?” *Disapproving looks* And when Mummy surprised Daddy with a PS4, he must have felt like shit and quickly got around to buying the printer. (See la~ Guilty then buy. PUI~) Within two days, the printer arrived! As usual, we were pretty excited whenever there’s a box! Can’t wait to find out what’s in it. We’re keeping our paws crossed that it’s treats. When Mummy opened it, I was in disbelief. NO TREATS AGAIN?! Even …

I am FIERCE!

Mummy showed me a picture of my best bud, Jäger and I was in awe! He looked so fierce! Rawrrrrrrrrrr No wonder he can scare off his brother (Snowy, the goldie) easily. I wanna be like him!! Maybe this way I can stop being a wuss and finally scare Pecan ah ma off. (She’s the Empress Dowager of the household btw. Yap, in other words, she wears the pants.) #mylifesucks So I started practising, hard.  Here’s my best attempt! Mummy couldn’t stop laughing when I showed her my ‘mean’ face.  In fact, she kept calling me a “Gu Niang“ So horrible. I think I look quite vicious ma. But as usual, Pecan ah ma agrees with her.  She just wouldn’t give a damn about me and my ‘fierceness’ and simply walked away when I confronted her. #whyyounogivemeface Oh well, guess I just have to work harder.  Grrrrr

Our lives through an iPhone – Sam & Pecan’s Secret Garden

Mummy found a fully enclosed park at Grandmummy’s condo! We officially declare it Sam & Pecan’s secret garden. *Wriggly dance* Of course we got some off-leashed time. As usual, I didn’t do too well as I got too occupied barking competitively at the dogs at the landed properties surrounding the park. It’s not my fault their owners decided to lock them up in the backyard ma~ So yap, I lost my off-leash privilege within the first five minutes of the walk. booooooo~ Ah ma did great and responded to every single command Mummy had, so she remained off-leash throughout the walk. #spoilmarket

Made with Love – Carrot Juice and Yoghurt Pupsicles!!

Thanks to Mummy’s willingness to indulge us, we’ve come to expect something special every weekend. (Hee, yap, weekends are my cheat days k!) Like other Saturdays, we sat around restlessly waiting for something good to pop up in front of us. But unlike other weekends, half the day had passed and there was still no signs of anything spectacular! So, we decided to speak up for our rights and demand something from Mummy. Unable to resist our adorable faces, Mummy finally lifted her butt of the sofa (yes, we are all couch potatoes), walked into the kitchen and whipped out her new toy – Zoku’s Mini Pop Molds! She also took out a packet of Mixed Carrot Juice and some low-fat yoghurt. Within seconds, she was done! (Diao~ we couldn’t understand why she didn’t do it earlier! Especially since it was so easy!! Boooo~) Well, at least we got to lick the almost empty yoghurt cup clean! Forgiven~ By now, we were so excited and couldn’t wait for the real treat. Only to be told …

Behind the scenes…

Blogging is no easy task.  And I’ve to do it all by myself. While Mummy is the officially lousy photographer and the idea spinner, I have to do all the editorial work myself. That being said, Mummy does lend me a hand occasionally (usually for Mummy’s notes). As for Daddy, he just doesn’t give a hoot.  Thankfully, writing entries after entries is not at all a challenge for my smart little brain.  But what I do require is a little privacy while my paws type away. I mean, nothing beats silence and being left alone for my creative juices to flow.  Obviously Mummy thinks otherwise. zzzzz Shall try to ignore her and continue to proof-read my entry… But it just doesn’t feel right with a pair of eyes constantly looking at me. Grrrrrr… Luckily, Mummy got my hint and decided to leave me alone for the next thirty minutes.. and Viola~  A new entry is up! Done! A happy less grumpy Sam! It’s tough being a dog blogger. But I’ve to admit, the rewards are …
