The Green Mini Interactive Feeder!

Mummy brought home an interesting product recently.  I was quite fascinated by it and couldn’t quite figure out what it was exactly. It’s a toy… NO! it’s a bowl… NO! It’s a……  Green Mini Interactive Feeder! This specially designed feeder is shaped just like at tuft of grass (it consists of 32 grass-like blades). Besides acting as obstacles to prolong eating time, they make access to food complicated, making it challenging and possibly more interesting for the eater. I’m far from being a fast eater. While I gobble down treats like they are the best things on earth (wait, they are!), I approach my kibbles with a lot LESS enthusiasm. In fact, it’s always a struggle to get me to start eating, let alone get me to finish my food. Hence, Mummy thought that this would be a great toy to get me slightly more interested in my food since it will make my mealtime a fun and enjoyable activity! I’ve to admit that I was quite intrigued by it and couldn’t wait to test …

Sam, the model….

I haven’t really mentioned this, but mummy’s new internship is just awesome. Though it’s a temporary stint, mummy is enjoying every moment and loving it!  While she’s getting paid peanuts, the perks of her job more than made up for that.  One huge perk of mummy’s job is…  I get to be a pet model for Pets Magazine! Check out my debut! Hey~ Good Looking~ Sigh, I’m a natural! Haha. Okay, just kidding. The shoot was a lot of fun and I got to lick tons of yummy things!  Can’t wait for my next modeling job. (If any.. LOL) If you’re in Singapore, go grab a copy today!

Leftovers…

One of my favorite things about mummy’s made with love sessions is the leftover ingredients! To reduce wastage (and to indulge me a little), I am usually given the leftovers. The leftovers from the chicken pops was none other than… YUMMY yoghurt! Sounds unhealthy doesn’t it? But the truth is… plain yoghurt is actually good for us. The active bacteria, acidophilus, acts as probiotics and keeps the good bacteria our intestines in check (knocking out the bad bacteria). Thus, aiding our digestion!  Yummy healthy food. What a Win-win situation…  The yoghurt was seriously lip-smacking good. Each time mummy removed the yoghurt out of my licking range, I would continue to lick my face and nose clean. Hence, mummy was extremely fascinated with the number of different expressions I can make while licking my face clean.  Also, check out my yoghurt-coated goatee. Pity good things always finish way too quickly. I want more…

My Customized-customized Tote Bag…

Besides customizing our family silhouette pillow from Le Papier Studio, mummy customized another keepsake – a tote bag, using just my silhouette. The artist was really professional and sent a couple of drafts for vetting before sending the final silhouette to be printed.  Check out my silhouette!  Pretty close, ey? Hee, that’s my trademark tail! Though there were a couple of hiccups with the shipment of the order (apparently, the first shipment got lost!), mummy was really thrilled when she finally received the tote bag.  The silhouette looked great and the material of the tote bag was better than she expected. It was really thick and sturdy, great for putting Sam’s many little doggy things (e.g. wipes, food).  The only problem was… the design was a little boring.  Hence, we decided to add some ‘bling’ to it… Under the magic hands and paws of the crafting duo, we present you with an even more customized tote bag! Overall, I was quite happy with the final product.  My only complaint (which also explained why my face was …

Made with Love – Parsley Fresh Biscuits…

Mummy bought a couple of dog food cookbooks from Amazon a while ago.  On the spur of the moment, she picked out the  “You Bake ’em Dog Biscuits Cookbook” and handed it to me. I quickly glanced through (while drooling) and was in awe of the number of recipes and yummy treats available for dogs.  Spontaneously, mummy asked me to pick one recipe for her to try.  I was a little dubious. I mean, while Mummy has been pretty successful with the home made dog treats attempts, she isn’t exactly a baker (I shall not mention her recent failed attempt at baking macaroons…oops).  For her sake (and mine more importantly), I carefully looked through the cookbook again and selected a relatively easy yet super yummy-sounding recipe – Minty Fresh Biscuits (p.105)!  The recipe is pretty straightforward and the ingredients required are really basic. Besides cookie cutters, all we needed were flour (all-purpose and wheat), an egg, milk, olive oil and parmesan cheese. The recipe called for mint flakes but we decided to replace it with parsley …

ZUNY

Mummy bought a Zuny classic dog bookend for who-knows-what-reason and named it Zuny (Creativity at its best huh) . She explained that Zuny was meant to be a door-stopper, but since our contractor added a stopper on the main door, Zuny became jobless and a ‘white elephant’.  Since then, mummy ‘rehomed’ Zuny and the little guy became a dust-collector shelf display. We were never formally introduced and we pretty much minded our own business. But, I always felt that he looked down on me (not just literally). And for that, I was not pleased. On a bright sunny afternoon, I decided that it was time to settle our scores.  I tried convincing him to come down for a “discussion” but he completed ignored me. Now what? I had to get him down, myself. Despite X attempts, Zuny just seemed to be able to evade my death grips jaws and I could not get him down. Seeing how annoyed and frustrated I was, heroic mummy decided to step in and got Zuny down to the couch. There, …

Couple Outfits…

Remember Peachy? To thank Mummy for dog sitting, Peachy’s very sweet mummy bought us some gifts (toys, leash, harness etc). Mummy’s favorite of the lot was none other than… the couple tees. -_- Peachy’s mummy thoughtfully bought each of us two matching outfits! Introducing the SuperDogs!  And the barrister dogs!  Mummy kept laughing at me when I put on the Starbucks shirt as she thinks that I look like a wanna-be hunk going to the beach.  -_- Unlike Peachy who was super excited to put the outfits on, I wasn’t too pleased to wear something and was awfully glad when mummy finally took it off.  Phew~ Thankfully I only have to wear it if Peachy’s around! PS: Mummy just told me that Peachy’s coming for another staycation this weekend!  Time for us to plot some grand plans of mischief.  Ho ho ho ….

Little Craft Session…by the crafting duo!

My parents attended the MAAD event at the Red Dot Museum a couple of weekends back to support mummy’s ex-colleague who started her own artwork line, Little Shop of Dreams (L.S.O.D).  Hee, mummy really loves the artwork as they are really simple yet cute. To support her ex-colleague, mummy bought a handful of postcards and a little canvas zip pouch.  Me posing with the loot. When mummy bought the zip pouch, she had every intention to personalize it (for me of course). Hence, when she stumbled upon another crafty booth at MAAD selling alphabet buttons, she couldn’t resist and bought buttons spelling my humble name.  Of course, mummy is the queen of procrastination. And after a good two weeks or so, she finally got down to doing some craft work and attempted to sew the buttons on. Unfortunately, her crafting XP is too low and she couldn’t figure out how to sew the buttons on properly. (Well, to her defence, the fabric covered buttons were pretty challenging to sew. Okay fine, she sucks.) All is …

Made with Love – Home Made Dog Biscuits!!

Under my special request, mummy finally made me some home made dog biscuits!  YEAH! She used a Gourmet Dog treat Maker from Sunbeam she bought from Petsmart in NYC. The dog treat maker looks just like a wafer maker, except that the casing is the shape of dog biscuits! After a quick discussion with me, mummy and I decided to bake – Peanut Butter Dog Treats. The ingredients used were really simple and easy – Peanut butter, wheat flour, baking powder, eggs and water.  The batter was made by simply whisking all the ingredients together, with the help of mummy’s beloved Kitchen Aid Mixer. Once thoroughly mixed together, mummy poured the batter into the tray and closed the maker tightly. After a good 15 minutes of waiting, a batch of four biscuits were ready! Unlike the store bought biscuits which are dry and hard, the home made dog biscuits were more like cakes and were soft and moist. (Which I kinda prefer actually) I couldn’t wait to start eating! Unfortunately for me, mummy insisted on the …
