Our lives through an iPhone – Sam & Pecan’s Secret Garden

Mummy found a fully enclosed park at Grandmummy’s condo! We officially declare it Sam & Pecan’s secret garden. *Wriggly dance* Of course we got some off-leashed time. As usual, I didn’t do too well as I got too occupied barking competitively at the dogs at the landed properties surrounding the park. It’s not my fault their owners decided to lock them up in the backyard ma~ So yap, I lost my off-leash privilege within the first five minutes of the walk. booooooo~ Ah ma did great and responded to every single command Mummy had, so she remained off-leash throughout the walk. #spoilmarket

Cole turns O-N-E!

I attended my very first dog birthday party for the year!! Of course I came dressed for the occasion! It’s Cole’s birthday!!! This charming fellow officially turned one-year-old (even though he weighs x3 of me!)! Welcome to adulthood dude.. The party was held at Paw Pet-radise Cafe. Cole’s awesome Daddy booked the whole place for two hours for us to create havoc! Besides being a closed door event, there was some yummy finger food for the humans and paw food just for dogs! The party was really relaxing and we pretty much just spent our time… sniffing butts, Making new friends. Meet Smiggle, the American Cocker Spaniel, who secretly has a crush on me, maybe because I’m American too. Sorry babe but I’m taken. Goofing around. Bunny Sam wishes you Happy Easter~ Most importantly,  begging for food. I started with a more subtle attempt by sitting around where food is. Was a little surprised that my charms didn’t work.  Mummy said it was because I already had three meatballs. Where got enough??  I’m a growing …

Our weekend hike – Bidadari

It’s kinda Mummy’s daily route to drive by Bidadari every day after work.  She had noticed many dogs and their owners strolling around and decided that she had to bring us here. And so today is the day! It was quite difficult figuring out where to park or if there was any map of the place.  In the end, Mummy had to fight the Qingming crowd for a parking lot at Mount Vernon instead. From there, we strolled over to the actual Bidadari area where our hike finally started. Happy pooches, ready to explore the ex-cemetry! Oh oh..and Keyser came along too! It’s quite hard to believe but my brother-from-another-mother actually survived a car ride in the same car as the crazy ah ma! (Nope, no one got killed, we just got tons of treats!) FYI: Keyser is the male version of Pecan. They have the same quirks. Well done Keys and ah ma! The three of us were pretty much terrorizing the whole park.  Yap, we barked at almost every furry tom, dick and …

Pets Picnic Party

It was the pets picnic party yesterday and of course I had to tag along! While the picnic started only at 4pm, I was there since noon to lend a paw for the setup.  Making ourselves useful by lazing on the stage. As Mummy was busy running around and helping out for the event, I was pretty much left to entertain myself. Thankfully there were many nice korkors and jiejies to keep me company. Besides, when it got super boring, I had brownie, my poopbag holder to play with me. It was a pity that Mummy is part of the organizing team. Because of that, I didn’t have a picnic mat to chill on, yummy food to beg for or decent photos to post. -_- Well, at least I got a nice grass patch to laze on and some dogs to check out. Plus, the lovely people of Superdog Kitchen gave us a bowl of yummy coconut water with some watermelon. Refreshing for a warm picnic! *Slurps~* In addition, I did have Jager and Snowy (tied …

Sam ‘n’ the city 2014!

Me and Mummy went on a special date last saturday!  (Yes, we left Pecan ah ma and Daddy behind at home to rot to death. Ho Ho Ho ) For our special day out, Mummy decided to bring me to the city! Well, The promontory @ Marina Bay to be exact. And yes, I finally got to enjoy the satisfaction of marking my territory at Marina Bay. Wahahahaha The truth was… Mummy brought me to the 8 Days Pets ‘n’ the City 2014 event. Since Pecan ah ma isn’t very dog friendly yet, Mummy decided to leave her behind and got Daddy to accompany her (Before you start pitying Daddy, he actually likes being home rather than stuck at a dog event). The event was a little blah~ I mean the booths were disappointing and there was nothing for sale that I wanted.  Mummy did get a free Old Chang Kee curry puff, which she gobbled up herself without offering me any. So horrible right? Anyway, here’s a lousy “I was here” shot.  Geesh, Mummy really …

Hiking with dogs @ Hort Park!

We’re just a little over the Green Corridor. I mean, how not to when you visit it 3 times in less than one month.  Hence, Mummy decided to explore something different. So, we went to… the Hort Park! We invited a special friend to come along today.  While waiting for him, we stood around and stalked the koi fish. Introducing our playmate for the day – Keyser!  Hee, while it’s not the first time he is on my blog, it is his virgin feature in Singapore! Yaps, Keyser is my best bro from NYC! We’ve been best buddies (he even came for a stay over) when we were in the Big Apple. He came back six months after I did and this is the second time we caught up with each other! Mummy was a little concerned about how ah ma would react around Keyser.  But to everyone’s surprise, the two of them didn’t give a hoot about each other and that worked out great! Within minutes (they did scream at each other for a …

Sam and Pecan’s very own Toyota Rush!

Remember we mentioned something exciting about our new ride? Guess what, yes, we finally have our very own personalized doggie car!  Well, actually, we have had it for about one month now. It’s just that our lazy Mummy has been really slow in updating this.  *Tsk tsk tsk* Anyway, introducing… Gin! Gin is a 2007 Toyota Rush! Being rather tight on budget, our parents settled for a preloved car (We are his third and last owner). While silver isn’t exactly the color of Mummy’s choice, beggars can’t be choosers ma. There weren’t any white ones around, so here we got stuck with Gin! But again, me and Pecan ah ma really don’t give a shit care as long as there is something to bring us places. Our parents initially wanted a Honda Jazz/Fit. But came to realize that it isn’t exactly value for money.  Instead, they settled for Gin for one simple reason. THIS. The backseats fold up all the way to create a huge ‘playpen’ at the back. So effectively, Gin transforms to a …

The aftermath of Pet Expo

Sorry for the lack of posts.  The reason is simple. This is how I look for the past five days. Acting cute and being the centre of attention for three consecutive days sure is tough.  If you think I look like crap, you should see Mummy. But to spare you the agony of having nightmares from looking at how zombified she is, I’ll just put another one of my half-dead look. I’m recharging and should be back to my chirpy self soon. Meanwhile…zzzzzz

It’s a Doggie Pool Party!

Mummy chipped in with Auntie Charmaine (aka my mother-in-law) and bought us a… PADDLE POOL! It’s actually meant for kids but it works great for dogs too!  *Wriggly dance* Auntie Charmaine had wanted to get one for her boys, Snowy the Golden Retriever and Jager the Alusky! So, Mummy, thinking that it was a brilliant idea, decided to share the cost. Plus, Auntie Charmaine has a lovely front garden that had ample space for the pool! It certainly reminded me of the good old NYC dog park days where we got a lovely dog pool each summer to combat the heat! Hence, I was wayyy over the moon when Mummy told me what was happening! Auntie C, ya the best! Let’s get the party started!! It took the adults about ten minutes to assemble it and probably another ten to fill the pool.  Pecan ah ma was the first to realise what was going on and certainly couldn’t hide her excitement. In fact, she was so excited about it then she happily hopped in even …

Our ride..

Pecan and I are like the grand(fur)kids that will never grow up. Hence, our daily arrangement goes like this – we get dropped off at Grandmummy’s place (just five minutes ride away) in the morning when my parents leave for work. They will bring by and pick us up after work and bring us home.  The plan works well as it means that we will never be home alone for an extended period of time. (Grandmummy’s domestic helper will walk us every few hours) All is great, except for one tricky part – My parents are leeches and are sharing a car with Grandmummy.  While it usually works out and my parents will take the car home in the evening and drive over in the morning, there are times when Grandmummy will need the car in the evenings and she will end up parking it at her place. As a result, she has to swing by to pick us up in the next morning. And boy, do we hate it! Cos she is ALWAYS LATE! …
