Made with Love – Carrot Juice and Yoghurt Pupsicles!!

Thanks to Mummy’s willingness to indulge us, we’ve come to expect something special every weekend. (Hee, yap, weekends are my cheat days k!) Like other Saturdays, we sat around restlessly waiting for something good to pop up in front of us. But unlike other weekends, half the day had passed and there was still no signs of anything spectacular! So, we decided to speak up for our rights and demand something from Mummy. Unable to resist our adorable faces, Mummy finally lifted her butt of the sofa (yes, we are all couch potatoes), walked into the kitchen and whipped out her new toy – Zoku’s Mini Pop Molds! She also took out a packet of Mixed Carrot Juice and some low-fat yoghurt. Within seconds, she was done! (Diao~ we couldn’t understand why she didn’t do it earlier! Especially since it was so easy!! Boooo~) Well, at least we got to lick the almost empty yoghurt cup clean! Forgiven~ By now, we were so excited and couldn’t wait for the real treat. Only to be told …

Made with Love – Bento for Dogs!

We were a little doubtful when Mummy offered to make us dinner. I mean, how not to after the traumatic incident of the jelly. The Apple Jelly ended up okay, but its appearance was an appetite killer.  Hence, we were a little wary about what to expect. But we did what she told us and collected our bento boxes and handed them to her.  The truth was… she is after all the hand that feeds us, so we LL (no other choice). We did feel a little bad when we realized how much effort Mummy went into planning this. Mummy, being a Daiso Auntie, actually went on a shopping spree just to purchase useless items to decorate our bento.  (Okay, now, we are seriously getting a little worried…) Just when we were becoming increasingly uncomfortable about Mummy’s dinner proposition, we discovered a faint light at the end of the tunnel.  And it came in the form of three lovely ladies!  Yap, Mummy’s awesome colleagues (including my beloved Mother-in-law) actually swung by to give Mummy a hand. …

Our weekend hike – Bidadari

It’s kinda Mummy’s daily route to drive by Bidadari every day after work.  She had noticed many dogs and their owners strolling around and decided that she had to bring us here. And so today is the day! It was quite difficult figuring out where to park or if there was any map of the place.  In the end, Mummy had to fight the Qingming crowd for a parking lot at Mount Vernon instead. From there, we strolled over to the actual Bidadari area where our hike finally started. Happy pooches, ready to explore the ex-cemetry! Oh oh..and Keyser came along too! It’s quite hard to believe but my brother-from-another-mother actually survived a car ride in the same car as the crazy ah ma! (Nope, no one got killed, we just got tons of treats!) FYI: Keyser is the male version of Pecan. They have the same quirks. Well done Keys and ah ma! The three of us were pretty much terrorizing the whole park.  Yap, we barked at almost every furry tom, dick and …

Apple Jelly for dogs!

We know something was cooking when Mummy started cutting apples into cubes in the kitchen! Plus, she also took out her sam-sized cooking pot.  And we were right! Guess what’s on the menu…. It’s… APPLE JELLY FOR DOGS! Wheeeeeee~ You are probably wondering where she got the inspiration from… Mummy bought a dog jelly mould donkey years ago from Amazon (Most likely because she needed items to hit the minimum USD125 for free shipping). After it had collected dust for a good few months, she decided to finally put it into good use. (And we are not complaining!) (Source) A quick google and Mummy realized that there really isn’t any simple recipes for jellies for dogs. Hence, she decided to come up with one herself using whatever she could find in the kitchen. She used chicken stock, apples and gelatin.  Simple as that.  And it looks promising too! We were so excited to get started on our dessert till the horrid news struck. Yap, we had to leave it in the chiller overnight. #Notimpressed After …

Behind the scenes…

Blogging is no easy task.  And I’ve to do it all by myself. While Mummy is the officially lousy photographer and the idea spinner, I have to do all the editorial work myself. That being said, Mummy does lend me a hand occasionally (usually for Mummy’s notes). As for Daddy, he just doesn’t give a hoot.  Thankfully, writing entries after entries is not at all a challenge for my smart little brain.  But what I do require is a little privacy while my paws type away. I mean, nothing beats silence and being left alone for my creative juices to flow.  Obviously Mummy thinks otherwise. zzzzz Shall try to ignore her and continue to proof-read my entry… But it just doesn’t feel right with a pair of eyes constantly looking at me. Grrrrrr… Luckily, Mummy got my hint and decided to leave me alone for the next thirty minutes.. and Viola~  A new entry is up! Done! A happy less grumpy Sam! It’s tough being a dog blogger. But I’ve to admit, the rewards are …

Pets Picnic Party

It was the pets picnic party yesterday and of course I had to tag along! While the picnic started only at 4pm, I was there since noon to lend a paw for the setup.  Making ourselves useful by lazing on the stage. As Mummy was busy running around and helping out for the event, I was pretty much left to entertain myself. Thankfully there were many nice korkors and jiejies to keep me company. Besides, when it got super boring, I had brownie, my poopbag holder to play with me. It was a pity that Mummy is part of the organizing team. Because of that, I didn’t have a picnic mat to chill on, yummy food to beg for or decent photos to post. -_- Well, at least I got a nice grass patch to laze on and some dogs to check out. Plus, the lovely people of Superdog Kitchen gave us a bowl of yummy coconut water with some watermelon. Refreshing for a warm picnic! *Slurps~* In addition, I did have Jager and Snowy (tied …

Sam ‘n’ the city 2014!

Me and Mummy went on a special date last saturday!  (Yes, we left Pecan ah ma and Daddy behind at home to rot to death. Ho Ho Ho ) For our special day out, Mummy decided to bring me to the city! Well, The promontory @ Marina Bay to be exact. And yes, I finally got to enjoy the satisfaction of marking my territory at Marina Bay. Wahahahaha The truth was… Mummy brought me to the 8 Days Pets ‘n’ the City 2014 event. Since Pecan ah ma isn’t very dog friendly yet, Mummy decided to leave her behind and got Daddy to accompany her (Before you start pitying Daddy, he actually likes being home rather than stuck at a dog event). The event was a little blah~ I mean the booths were disappointing and there was nothing for sale that I wanted.  Mummy did get a free Old Chang Kee curry puff, which she gobbled up herself without offering me any. So horrible right? Anyway, here’s a lousy “I was here” shot.  Geesh, Mummy really …

Pinku-chan the Octopus

Auntie JY bought us a new toy from Ju-be a few weeks ago! We decided to name it Pinku-chan! And yap, she’s a hand-knitted Octopus, made of toxic-free wool. We likey~  “Oh.. you mean Pinku is not my dinner?” Dang~ When I realized Pinku-chan was no calamari, I’ve to admit that I was a little disappointed. But thankfully Pinku-chan is really sporting and fun to play with. One of our favorite games is balancing her on our foreheads!! Pinku-chan also enjoys riding on me! Pecan ah ma is too wriggly for her.  Plus, my fat sturdy body is also great for Pinku-chan to rest on! We had a ball chasing her around the house.  It’s a pity that she is a little fragile and Mummy has to keep it away at times to prevent us for pulling a leg or two out. Thanks Auntie JY for our new toy pet!!

Hiking with dogs @ Hort Park!

We’re just a little over the Green Corridor. I mean, how not to when you visit it 3 times in less than one month.  Hence, Mummy decided to explore something different. So, we went to… the Hort Park! We invited a special friend to come along today.  While waiting for him, we stood around and stalked the koi fish. Introducing our playmate for the day – Keyser!  Hee, while it’s not the first time he is on my blog, it is his virgin feature in Singapore! Yaps, Keyser is my best bro from NYC! We’ve been best buddies (he even came for a stay over) when we were in the Big Apple. He came back six months after I did and this is the second time we caught up with each other! Mummy was a little concerned about how ah ma would react around Keyser.  But to everyone’s surprise, the two of them didn’t give a hoot about each other and that worked out great! Within minutes (they did scream at each other for a …
