One for Sam Forest, one for Pecan Woods

Remember this? To welcome Pecan ah ma to the family, Mummy bought Pecan her very own lunch bag too! Not surprisingly, Mummy got her a cat bag and an equally cute cat bento set! (She’s like the cat that mummy will never get. ooops) So now, Pecan finally has her own lunch bag to put her own meals! Wheeee…. congrats ah ma! Ain’t the two bags and bento sets just look so cute together! Of course, two happy pups! PS: We even held hands! We saw Mummy packing our meals for tomorrow in! Can’t wait to see what surprises are in store for me. Mummy’s note: Sorry pups. You are getting the same old kibbles.  Wahahahah

A piece of me.. on the FRIDGE!

A package arrived for Mummy today.  As usual, I get the first sniff. Wondering what was it in? Ta-dah~ My very own… FRIDGE MAGNETS by Pop Doggie. Mummy previously customised a portrait of me  . Fedup with the lack of nice magnets, she decided to head back to the etsy store and using the same image, create magnets of me! A close up. Awesome isn’t it? And to feed Mummy’s recent obsession with cats, she decided to get a kitty magnet too! Pecan ah ma seems to really like them and was a little disappointed that there were none of hers. But guess what, I heard Mummy mentioning to Daddy that she’s gonna get a portrait of Pecan done too! (Well, before Daddy could comment, Mummy walked away. And he let out a resigned sigh. HAHAHAHAHAH) Good for you ah ma~! Meanwhile, can you spot the magnets? PS: Please ignore the expiry dates. The items were long gone. And yes, Mummy is that lazy. Mummy made five and is planning to give both sides of …

Mischief at work… failed.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer came by to visit.  And I was pretty happy about it. So I did what I do best…. I ate it.  (Well, at least I tried) Mummy saw it from the corner of her eye and screamed: “Nooooooooooooooooo Sam…’ So I spat it out and ran far away from the crime scene. Phew~ Pecan certainly wasn’t impressed and was in fact a little concerned that the reindeer might have been killed by my powerful jaws. Wahahahhaah…*evil grin* So Mummy did what she does best – resuscitate my ‘dead’ toys. And guess what, he’s alive again! Pffff.. my evil ploy got ruined again. At least someone is happy.

Dogs’ day out – Anthesis

It’s been a while since we had a good family brunch at a new place (Don’t worry, my parents are still bringing me out on weekends, just that we have been revisiting the same few places). To welcome Pecan, as well as to have a sense of how she does outside, Mummy and Daddy brought us to a new Sam-welcomed place for a goood brunch.  Deciding where to go was easy. Mummy chose Anthesis as it was the pet-friendly venue for the Dec/Jan issue of the magazine.  Daddy parked along Kim Seng Road and we strolled over. Introducing Anthesis! Absolutely dog-friendly as we were even served a pink bowl with water to beat the heat. Sigh, pink really isn’t my colour. Suits Pecan more. My happy family!  (Daddy’s typical sian face as usual. haha) Service was quick and we got our food quickly. Mummy ordered a Tuna Tataki Sandwich (which she loves, but again, anything with avocado can’t go wrong for her).  Daddy ordered Eggs 3-way which is great for people who can’t quite decide how …

Dental Scaling – Checked!

For the past week, the phrase that Mummy repeated the most, besides “No, Sam! No, Pecan”, was “Don’t let her lick you, she has bad breath.”. Guess what? As of today, you will hear the phrase no more! Yap, Pecan Woods’ dental scaling procedure was a success! Not only did she not get affected by the anaesthesia, she did well with flying colours! Hooray!!! Besides an extremely relieved and happy Mummy, a slightly pleased Daddy, the both of us are basking in joy! Here’s to many more mischiefs and misdeeds together! Let’s do it, Pecan! Mummy’s note: Dr Vanessa is awesome!!!!! So in love with her right now. Hee. Anyway, Pecan did great and is completely back to normal! Best of all, her bad breath is gone and her teeth looks pearly white. Okay, I exaggerate, it doesn’t. BUT, it looks almost as good as Sam! Time to get her started on her daily brushings. Well done Smelly Girl! Hm, maybe it’s also time for a new nickname too….

Like brother, like sister!

Unlike me, Pecan is a natural swimmer!  Well, at least with our family. While I may appear to an expert monkey rescuer, it took me a good four to five months (and alot of $$ and hard work) to get to where I am today.  On the contrary, Pecan actually jumped into the water and swam on her own on our very first visit to the dog pool.  Kudos! (Mummy: Yap, that puts fatty Sam to shame!) As Pecan doesn’t a life purpose while swimming, she would just go for a quick dip, before turning around and climbing out of the pool. Thus, to get her to swim and exercise more, I decide to take her under my fat wings and teach her the art of monkey rescue.  Unfortunately, Monkey is a tad bit big and heavy for her small frame. Luckily, I do have a stash of toys and we managed to find one that fits her fine perfectly  The Mr Spike Latex Toy! Yap, Pecan Woods Loo Lim is the official Monster Rescue! …

Nicknames for the (poor) dogs..

Mummy is a meando.  Instead of calling us by our lovely names, Sam and Pecan, she figured that it’s funnier if she gave us nicknames. Pecan, aka Smelly Girl, is clearly not impressed. (But hor, her name is justifiable! Well, at least until her dental scaling appointment on Monday) Pecan: So mean… T_T I, aka Stinky Boy, am even more upset! I get my weekly baths and granted that I might smell a tad bit towards the end of the week, I certainly do not qualify as being ‘stinky’.  So, I decided to confront stupid Mummy. Me: MUMMY! IT’S NOT FAIR! I’M NOT STINKY. Mummy: Well, your fatty body does not stink, your attitude does.  Me: ……. My life sucks.

Bread-ed!

Hahahahahahhaha… Pecan got bread-ed! Unfortunately for her, being a JRT, she got blended into the wholemeal bread as well, just like me! Wahahahahahhaha…. Welcome to the family, Pecan. Who do you think make a better bread? Me me me!!

Made with Love – Parsley, Cheese & Carrot Dog Biscuits!

Inspired by Pecan’s horrid breath, Mummy wanted to make some treats that can help combat the odour. And when she came home today with a bag of ingredients, we started to get pretty excited.  Can’t help but wonder what Mummy had up her sleeves. As Mummy did not have her recipe books on hand, she simply googled Parsley treats for dogs and settled on the very first recipe she found! PS: Parsley is great for managing bad breath in dogs! Let’s get started! Here’s what she used: – Oats, Multi-purpose floor, cheddar cheese, carrots and of course, the star of the evening – Parsley. Mummy also found some silicon trays (two from Amazon and the others from Giant) that she could use to bake the cookies in. (Oh ya, Mummy used chicken stock instead of lactose-free milk) Being the senior, I was well aware of the baking procedure and was ready to go take a nap while waiting. But silly Pecan, being new and overly enthusiastic, decided to offer Mummy some help. Thankfully Mummy declined …
