The JRTS go hiking!

Mummy took an insane leap of faith and gamble and brought Pecan ah ma along for her very first Jack Russell Mania outing to the Green Corridor. Yap, you didn’t hear me wrong.  We actually brought the crazy smelly old lady to an outing with many other dogs. Not just other dogs, but fellow Jack Russells! It’s like crazy meet crazy. Of course, there were initial doubts if it was too much for her to handle.  But after some consideration, our parents decided to take the plunge and went right for it. Well, there was always Plan B if it didn’t work out – go back home.  (Shhh, lazy Daddy was secretly rooting for that lor) #mydaddysucks And guess what, Ah ma did beautifully.  In fact, she was perfect. She walked and walked and walked, alongside many others.  I swear I saw tears in Mummy’s eyes.  #yayayayaIexaggeratela But nonetheless, Mummy was damn proud of Pecan. For those who are new to the blog and wondering who’s who… Here goes… aka the cutest dog in the world. Heheheheheheh… aka smelly ah ma. HEHEHEHEHHEHEHE…. Yap, it’s pretty obvious now that Mummy is a sucker for drawings of us! (This is my 5th and Pecan’s 2nd! I’m sure there are more to come!) We know that one reason why Mummy and Daddy decided to adopt Pecan ah ma was because she is a striking resemblance to me. It’s Pecan’s birthday!

Yap, the crazy old woman Empress Dowager turned ELEVEN! In other words, she is technically 60 years old! You know what? Ah ma is actually eligible for the Senior Citizen Concession Card liao! #sheisasoldasgrandmummy It’s unbelievable how old she is.  I mean…. she’s almost THRICE my age and she’s like a energizer bunny! #howcanshebesoold #oldahmastillwannaactyoung Since it was her birthday, of course Mummy had awesome surprises in store for her! Mummy was actually debating whether to throw ah ma a party and invite our doggy friends over. But wait…what doggy friends? Sam’s Pick: Sunny Heights (Animal World) Swimming Pool!

Swimming is a weekly affair at the Loo Lim Household.  Every saturday, we would pack our swimming gears (including Monkey and Monster!) and head out to our usual pool. Sounds routine huh… Maybe not… Because… our favorite pool just undergone an extreme makeover. From what was formerly known as K9 Kulture to THIS fabulous pool under Sunny Heights (Animal World)! Awesomeness to the max! Gone are the rough surfaces, slippery slopes, protruding nails and dirty water. And say hello to new (and gorgeous) tiles, easy steps, cool (but a little scary) water features and comfy seats for our parents to chill! How not to like~ In fact, we absolutely love it! Pecan ah ma giving it her grin of approval. Mummy was actually a little concerned that we might take some time to get used to, especially since they removed the slope and put steps in instead. Sam’s Pick – Feed My Paws Mooncakes

Time flies and the Mid-Autumn Festival is back again! Wheeeeeee….. And the most important thing for this festival is of course… MOONCAKES! Knowing how much I enjoyed my mooncakes last year, Mummy decided to get me some again! Plus, we wanted Pecan ah ma to try it too. We were rather spoilt for choices as there were multiple online dog bakeries that were selling them!  But to give support and thank Auntie Crsytle for feeding our tiny tummies with tons of treats (check out our review here to find out what we stuffed ourselves silly with), we went with… *drum rolls* FEED MY PAWS MOONCAKES!! With so many yummy favorites to choose from, Mummy decided to go ahead and order the pack of SIX. It includes a mixture of savory [Beefy Cheese & Porky Cheese] and snowskin moon cakes [Durian Diva, Berry Bumbum & Pinky-Taro]. Don’t they just look so good? The toy bucket challenge!

So, we were challenged by The Vanilla Pup, Latte and her owner on Instagram to do the #ToyBucketChallenge.We had to either pour a bucket of stuffies over our heads OR donate $10 to an Animal Welfare Group of our choice. Since it was for a good cause, we immediately said YES! to it.  #challengeaccepted #bringiton Besides, nothing beats being showered with toys. Like literally. Mummy was all geared up and started walking around the house with a bucket to pick up the dead toys that were scattered around the room. To ensure that she did not sabo (cheat) us by putting a rock or two in it, she allowed us to inspect the toys prior to the challenge. #allclear The reason why Pecan ah ma looked blur in the image was that she actually attempted to steal a toy or two away! #itistoybucketchallengenotstealatoychallenge Tsk Tsk tsk… old people huh.. Sibling Love…

The relationship between me and Pecan ah ma has come a long, long way.  From arch enemies to tolerant housemates to loving siblings. From frequent fights, to occasional squabbles, to ganging up against Mummy together. Most importantly, we’ve even learnt how to play properly. While most of the time we wrestle to crawl on top of each other, there are a couple of rare occasions where we just spend sometime showing some sibling love. Mummy: “Awwwwwww… so sweet. Give her a kiss, Sam?” With my eyes on the treats Mummy is waving, I decided to give Pecan ah ma a kiss. Worst decision of my life. Because ah ma has bad bad BAD breath. #pecanahma’sbreathcankillone #smellslikerotteneggs #NOTIMPRESSED I nearly died man…. Our pet monkeys!

Both me and Pecan ah ma have a fondness for a certain animal – Primates! So, knowing that, Mummy decided to buy each of us a pet monkey toy!  Hee, but although we are siblings, we do have very contrasting taste in the types of toys we desire.  Can you tell which is mine and which is ah ma’s? (Left: Latex Monkey Toy from Fetch-box.com, Right: Safari BraidZ Monkey from Kong) If you’ve been following ah ma’s obsession, it will be an easy breezy guess. Yap, Santa, the latex monkey toy, is Pecan’s while Mon-Mon, the stuffie is mine!
