Dog-friendly Staycation at Conrad!

Edited: Unfortunately, Conrad is no longer dog-friendly wef 1 August 2017. We’re heartbroken that we have one less staycation option, but at least we had a great time there.  Thanks again to all the Conrad staff that made our stay so memorable.  After having a blast at last year’s Capella Staycation, Mummy decided to make a dog-friendly staycation a yearly affair at the Loo Lim Household! woohoo~ #scored #thankgoodnessmummywearsthepantsinthishousehold #luckystingydaddyhasnosay As much as we would love to head back to the heavenly Capella, they do have a one-dog only policy (boo~) and we really don’t want to resort to smuggling Pecan ah ma in. (Especially since we ain’t the quietest dogs around when there’s a pool involved)  Hehehe.  Instead, we decided to head to a hotel that allows two dogs.  Unfortunately, we really don’t have many options.  In fact, there’s only two in Singapore – Hilton Singapore and Conrad Centennial Singapore. (They are actually under the same hotel chain) Both permit up to two dogs (weighing no more than a combined weight of 34kg) in …

Sam’s Pick: Gex Pure Crystal Bowl

So, it was just another boring weekend afternoon for us….when Mummy got all cheery and started saying that she has something just for us! Of course, we jumped up from our lazing position and got all excited… Wheeee….  Fingers crossed that it’s gonna be yummy treats for our little bellies… Chants: “FOOD..FOOD..FOOD..FOOD” Mummy took out a box and started fumbling around, trying to set something up. Maybe it’s gonna be something pretty awesome and delicious.. And so we thought. When we were finally introduced to the item, our jaws dropped in disappointment. Ain’t no food man. #Mummycheatus #whynofood Instead, it was an automated GEX Pure Crystal Bowl. Pecan ah ma wasn’t very impressed. She obviously wasn’t happy that it wasn’t food.  Plus, she was a little unsure of the running water. Being the braver of the two (or so I think), I took the plunge and dived in for a sip.  Besides, cunning Mummy removed our usual bowl and played a good game of fetch with me prior to the shoot.  So I had no …

Hehehe, if my Foobler review has tempted you to prove to your parents how clever you are, this is the deal for you! The kind people at Nekojam are offering Sam and Pecan ah ma’s fans (hehehe, it’s a bit embarrassing to say this, do I even have fans??) a discount of $5 for the purchase of the Foobler! #gooddealscannotmiss #laylonglaylong #Samsoundslikeanauntie Simply type in ‘SAMNPECAN’ during checkout and viola~ you just saved some $$.  Good luck and have a blast challenging and conquering Foobler!!  May you do better than Pecan ah ma did. =P PS: Feel free to donate the savings to my little belly if you want. oops. Mummy’s giving me the death stare now. I was just kidding la~ #mummyhasnosenseofhumour

Sam’s Pick: The Foobler

Those know me personally will agree that I am rather smart. Ho ho ho ho… #inotstupid On one hand, I would like to say it’s nature and genetics (but again, Ah ma kinda proved that wrong). On the other, it’s nurture.  Since I was a pup, Mummy has always challenged me to an array of dog IQ toys, and may I say, I got pretty good at them. #bhb #samwinspawsdown On the other hand, Pecan ah ma is stupid a little dense and doesn’t take too well to IQ toys. I guess she just doesn’t have the patience to get to the bottom of it. #lazyahma Hence, when the kind people at Nekojam asked if we would like to give their new interactive toy a test-run, I was totally up for it. As for ah ma, well, as long as there’s treats involved, she’s in. So we waited patiently until we finally got our paws on the…Foobler! For a start, we were quite taken aback by it’s size. It was a good five times bigger than my …

Halloween @ Pawlicious Bakery!

I admit. I’ve a slight phobia of Halloween. Whenever I hear that the day is approaching, I pee a little in my (invisible) pants. And the reason is totally man-made. You see, on my very first Halloween, when I was a mere adorable, cuddly little nine month old puppy, my horrible stupid mummy thought it would be fun to dress me up. So she went to the stores and grabbed me … this. Apparently, stupid mummy didn’t get the memo that Halloween is two months BEFORE Christmas.  So, yap, I ended up being Santa’s unwilling helper for Halloween. #Mummyneedsacalendar As if it wasn’t bad enough, it was actually a matching outfit to Mummy’s Santa-rina outfit.  Yap, I was stuck in a tacky matching outfit with my mother. #ultimateloser #pleaseburnthesepictures Oh, and did I mention that she actually brought me to the Halloween Parade in the Village. And I got scared shitless by the zombies in the subway and started barking at them. And there was this guy in a shower curtain stained in blood. And …

Sam’s first media party – Wagging Rights Singapore

When Mummy received an e-invite for a media event of a doggie daycare, we just had to say yes! After all, it was my very first event as a guest. Wheeeeeeeeee… Though the invite was extended to Pecan ah ma too, unsure of what other dogs might be there, Mummy decided to leave her at home to be safe. Sorry ah ma! I’ll have fun on your behalf yo? Hehehe… So off we went to…. Wagging Rights! Located at Joo Chiat, Wagging Rights is a wellness destination for dogs that includes a full suite of amenities such as grooming, daycare, pet-sitting, a pet concierge service, and special programmes for puppies and lazy dogs in need of exercise (erm..sounds abit like me). #Iamnotfat #Iamjustbigboned And oh boy, this place is huge!  In fact, it’s bigger than our house! Besides the reception area, it actually has three separate spaces – the puppy space, the actual daycare space and the grooming room. #IneedricherparentstobuymeaBIGhouse We were brought to the daycare space where I was allowed off-leashed. And so, off …

Our latest illustrations!

For those who are new to the blog and wondering who’s who… Here goes… aka the cutest dog in the world. Heheheheheheh… aka smelly ah ma. HEHEHEHEHHEHEHE…. Yap, it’s pretty obvious now that Mummy is a sucker for drawings of us! (This is my 5th and Pecan’s 2nd! I’m sure there are more to come!) Hee… just wanna say thanks to Auntie Delia from Thedufstore for the lovely illustrations!  Go check out her Facebook page if you want to customize one for yourself! In fact, we are so in love with them that we are even using them as our new blog banner! Oh oh oh..and thanks to Auntie Lynne for spending time to give our drawings a simple touch and for creating our banner!  #Mummyisatechidiot #luckymummygotfriendsthataretalented #whyispecancuterthanmehere

It’s Pecan’s birthday!

Yap, the crazy old woman Empress Dowager turned ELEVEN! In other words, she is technically 60 years old! You know what? Ah ma is actually eligible for the Senior Citizen Concession Card liao! #sheisasoldasgrandmummy It’s unbelievable how old she is.  I mean…. she’s almost THRICE my age and she’s like a energizer bunny! #howcanshebesoold #oldahmastillwannaactyoung Since it was her birthday, of course Mummy had awesome surprises in store for her! Mummy was actually debating whether to throw ah ma a party and invite our doggy friends over. But wait…what doggy friends? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tons of furry buds.  #cannothelpthatIampopular But Ah ma? ERm…. let’s just say she isn’t really a dog-dog.  So to avoid a scenario where we spent $$$ and there’s only me and ah ma (and maybe Snowy) dancing around in an empty cafe, Mummy quickly decided that we should just celebrate this special day ourselves!  And who says we can’t have fun on our own? Here’s how the special day unfolds.. For a start, what’s a birthday party without a …

Sam’s Pick: Sunny Heights (Animal World) Swimming Pool!

Swimming is a weekly affair at the Loo Lim Household.  Every saturday, we would pack our swimming gears (including Monkey and Monster!) and head out to our usual pool. Sounds routine huh… Maybe not… Because… our favorite pool just undergone an extreme makeover. From what was formerly known as K9 Kulture to THIS fabulous pool under Sunny Heights (Animal World)! Awesomeness to the max! Gone are the rough surfaces, slippery slopes, protruding nails and dirty water. And say hello to new (and gorgeous) tiles, easy steps, cool (but a little scary) water features and comfy seats for our parents to chill! How not to like~ In fact, we absolutely love it! Pecan ah ma giving it her grin of approval. Mummy was actually a little concerned that we might take some time to get used to, especially since they removed the slope and put steps in instead. (It’s safer this way!) Thankfully, not only was I not deterred by the steps, I wasted no time and got right into my monkey rescue missions instantly. Yes, …
