Our ride..

Pecan and I are like the grand(fur)kids that will never grow up. Hence, our daily arrangement goes like this – we get dropped off at Grandmummy’s place (just five minutes ride away) in the morning when my parents leave for work. They will bring by and pick us up after work and bring us home.  The plan works well as it means that we will never be home alone for an extended period of time. (Grandmummy’s domestic helper will walk us every few hours) All is great, except for one tricky part – My parents are leeches and are sharing a car with Grandmummy.  While it usually works out and my parents will take the car home in the evening and drive over in the morning, there are times when Grandmummy will need the car in the evenings and she will end up parking it at her place. As a result, she has to swing by to pick us up in the next morning. And boy, do we hate it! Cos she is ALWAYS LATE! …

Our Green hike at the Green Corridor

For the first time in a very very blue moon, Mummy decided that she wanted to go for a hike with us. And of course, Daddy could not say no.  Hence, on a very bright Saturday morning, she woke up and dragged two sleepy dogs and one very sianz husband out of the house at 8.30am! (SHE NEVER WAKES UP BEFORE TEN ON SATURDAYS! THIS IS A MIRACLE)  Our destination was none other than Green Corridor! Mummy had heard great things about it from other dog owners and finally decided to explore the place for herself! The Green Corridor used to be a railway land connecting Singapore and Malaysia. After the train stations were relocated, the railway line began defunct. While plans on what to do with the space is still underway, in the meantime, it has been converted into an awesome cycling and pedestrian path connecting many green spaces together!  For a start, we decided to challenge the Bukit Timah Train Station-Holland Road stretch of the Green Corridor. We got Grandmummy to drop us off at Holland Road …

Our Birthday Treat – Pet Cruise

Our birthday came in three parts this year.  The awesome cake was just the icing. The second highlight of our special day was a…. PET CRUISE!  I mean..why not? Since both Pecan ah ma and myself are such huge fans of the water, Mummy thought it would be apt to bring us on a cruise out into the sea! How cool is that!! *Wriggly dance* Each dog is considered a passenger and the maximum capacity of the boat is ten. Any group with four or more is required to book the whole cruise.  Since there are four of us in total, we ended up having the whole boat to ourselves!  Mummy did invite a few friends to join us. Unfortunately, due to her extreme lack of communication (okay la, to her credit, she had been working late nights for the whole week prior to the cruise), none of her friends turned up. Boooo~ no give me face.  PUI. But it worked out great as that meant that we had more space to roam around!  Plus, …

Our CNY treat!

As per our new tradition, the dogs will get a dog-friendly replicate of a festive human meal!  We were extra looking forward to what yummy treat we were going to get this Lunar New Year. Seeing what a huge Yusheng fan Mummy is, we were actually a little worried that she is going to just serve us shedded raw veggies.  BUT….. lucky for us, she got lazy and instead of whipping something up for us, she decided to order one from a dog bakery! So, she went ahead and ordered a special something from Superdog Kitchen  for us! We were super excited when she told us it had arrived! Me checking out the mystery package… that was none other than a CNY Bak Kwa Tart!!! Knowing that I am a huge Bak Kwa fan, Mummy knew I would absolutely love this tart. And she was so right!! I had my first taste of Bak Kwa last CNY when Granddaddy decided to sneak me some. I was an instant convert. Needless to say, Mummy was really upset with Granddaddy as she …

The best part of Chinese New Year is…

collecting ANG BAOS!!!! And when our begging powers combined, our stash of red packets doubled!! Wheeee…thank you to all the awesome Aunties and Uncles! Now we just have to get our parents to bring us to the pet store to stock up on our favourite treats with the ang bao money!! But our job is not done! (There’s still 13 more days to the end of the lunar new year.) So,  More ang baos please!

Cartoon us!!

Remember this? As promised, Pecan finally got her very own customised cartoon version done. In case you are wondering, Mummy ordered both from the same Etsy store.  Thank you Kari (PopDoggie) for the great cartoon caricature!! Too cute isn’t it? We are still waiting for the actual copy to arrive and Mummy even ordered magnets along with it too!! Cannot wait to see them!

Simple happiness..

The simple joys in life do not always cost a lot.  While it’s undeniable that Mummy does spend ALOT on pampering us (and she can get brand cautious at times), not all our toys cost a bomb.  Following her ikea toy spree, Mummy brought home yet another cheap find from Tai Sing today – stuffed ball toys!!! She bought a total of six balls for just $4.90!  That’s less than a dollar each!  Actually, these toys are meant for kids. It wasn’t too much of a concern as what is safe for young children should be more or less safe for us. Besides, Mummy kept a close eye to prevent Sam, the toy destroyer us for spoiling them prematurely. NEW TOYS!!! Best of all, each toy comes with a bell and that just drove us crazy~~ Hence, playing fetch with it was awesome! We had our own, until Pecan decided that mine was better.  Boooo~ so I had no choice but to swap with her.  Nonetheless, we were of course, all smiles! Thanks Mummy for the …

HAPPY BARKDAY !!!

Mummy did something really awesome for us for my birthday this year!! For once, the planning started early!  A week before the big day, she sent this lovely photo to the very awesome Pawlicious Pet Bakery! We had no idea what was baking until Mummy came home with this surprise… OUR VERY OWN BIRTHDAY CAKE! How precious is this?! This is no doubt the best cake ever, especially since my last three cakes were blah!  (I actually had an ugly pink one for my second birthday cos she was so last minute. Like seriously~ ) Mummy chose beef as the flavour of the cake and also paid a little more for the lovely bone biscuits around it. Of course we were over the moon! THANK YOU MUMMY AND DADDY! How not to when the figurines are such close resemblance! Pecan with lil’pecan! Hehe, I think the figurine flatters her a fair bit. Maybe that’s how she looked as a pup. Sam with lil’Sam! Kudos for making me so slim! Somemore same size as Pecan ah …

Something’s cooking this weekend and we are on cloud nine just thinking about it!! Can’t wait to reveal what it is… Hint: I’m turning one, two, three.. FOUR!! while Pecan’s turning one, two, three…. eight, nine..TEN!

Why we are siblings…

We are not from the same litter.  In fact, we are six years and half a globe apart (I’m American-Born-Chinese-Dog while Pecan’s a true-blue Singaporean).  Yet, our sibling resemblance is so strong that there’s no denying that we are both from the Loo-Lim household. How? We bunny hop the same way! We bark the same way. Our ears (and tongues) fly the same way. We fetch the same way. (By fighting for the same toy..shhh) Last but not least.. we smile the same way. How can we not be siblings?!
