Mummy’s Nth Shopping Spreeeee~

Huge parcels arrived at our doorsteps today. And judging by past experiences, there must be something awesome inside for us. We put on our best behaviour for the night and waited impatiently for our surprises… And after dinner, our gifts unfold one after another. It started off with something kinda blah… Yet another Kurgo seat protector. We already had the khaki one, but Mummy wanted to get one for our own ride. Boring~ Next please. Mummy’s next purchase was a Canine Friendly Pet First Aid Kit! Not only does it come in a nice and compact packaging, it is equipped with items we need in case of an emergency. There’s a First aid instruction manual as well! In fact, Daddy the medic was pretty impressed and commented that our first aid kit is even more comprehensive than the human ones they have at home. #thingscrazymumsbuy Thankfully those were the only crappy items since they were of very little value to us. Best of all, the rest of the purchase were rather amazing! A purchase for us …

Sam the Dog Model

(Source: petsmagazine.com.sg) It sure is tough being this cute! In case you are wondering, I was the dog model for a spread in pets Magazine! And, if you would like to find out what I was posing for, grab a copy of pets (issue Feb/Mar 2014) now! PS: This is the BEST job ever! I was paid in TREATS!  Can you believe it?!

Jager and I!

One of my favourite friends in Singapore is…  JAGER!!! I’m so fond of him that I would run up to him and shower him with kisses the moment we meet. And of course, roll over my back too. In fact, we play so much that our parents kept joking that we are a couple! One of my little known quirks is that I’ve a tendency to snap at bigger dogs who step on me accidentally.  But somehow, Jager, despite being almost four times my size, is such a gentle giant that Mummy never once had to worry that we would end up in a squabble. Although we have known each other for almost a year now, this is probably the first few good photos of us! Hehe, stupid Mummy actually said that we looked like we are shooting our bridal shots (Jager is the groom in tux while I’m the bride in white).  Like wtf…

Our Green hike at the Green Corridor

For the first time in a very very blue moon, Mummy decided that she wanted to go for a hike with us. And of course, Daddy could not say no.  Hence, on a very bright Saturday morning, she woke up and dragged two sleepy dogs and one very sianz husband out of the house at 8.30am! (SHE NEVER WAKES UP BEFORE TEN ON SATURDAYS! THIS IS A MIRACLE)  Our destination was none other than Green Corridor! Mummy had heard great things about it from other dog owners and finally decided to explore the place for herself! The Green Corridor used to be a railway land connecting Singapore and Malaysia. After the train stations were relocated, the railway line began defunct. While plans on what to do with the space is still underway, in the meantime, it has been converted into an awesome cycling and pedestrian path connecting many green spaces together!  For a start, we decided to challenge the Bukit Timah Train Station-Holland Road stretch of the Green Corridor. We got Grandmummy to drop us off at Holland Road …

Why we are siblings…

We are not from the same litter.  In fact, we are six years and half a globe apart (I’m American-Born-Chinese-Dog while Pecan’s a true-blue Singaporean).  Yet, our sibling resemblance is so strong that there’s no denying that we are both from the Loo-Lim household. How? We bunny hop the same way! We bark the same way. Our ears (and tongues) fly the same way. We fetch the same way. (By fighting for the same toy..shhh) Last but not least.. we smile the same way. How can we not be siblings?!

Merry X’mas!

Mummy whipped out the old reindeer ears we have (we bought it from Macys) to get us ready for some festive photo taking.  Unfortunately for her (and lucky for us), we only have one pair. Thus, to determine the better candidate to don the piece, we both have to first model it. Who makes a better reindeer? (Chants: Pecan! Pecan! Pecan!) This was one competition that I wanted Pecan ah-ma to win.  Why? Cos winning means you have to wear the stupid ears. Yucksss. Hence, I was overjoyed when my parents thought that Pecan looked cuter in it. (I think her non-stop turbo tail wagging sealed the deal.) BUT… just when I was still gloating over her win, Mummy, out of nowhere, pulled out a hideous elf hat and put it on me. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo…. Of course, I wasn’t very happy. -_- Yet, this was nothing a couple of treats can’t fix.  So I put on my best smile for the shot of the night.  Too bad Pecan didn’t get the memo that she needs to …

Mischief at work… failed.

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer came by to visit.  And I was pretty happy about it. So I did what I do best…. I ate it.  (Well, at least I tried) Mummy saw it from the corner of her eye and screamed: “Nooooooooooooooooo Sam…’ So I spat it out and ran far away from the crime scene. Phew~ Pecan certainly wasn’t impressed and was in fact a little concerned that the reindeer might have been killed by my powerful jaws. Wahahahhaah…*evil grin* So Mummy did what she does best – resuscitate my ‘dead’ toys. And guess what, he’s alive again! Pffff.. my evil ploy got ruined again. At least someone is happy.

Dogs’ day out – Anthesis

It’s been a while since we had a good family brunch at a new place (Don’t worry, my parents are still bringing me out on weekends, just that we have been revisiting the same few places). To welcome Pecan, as well as to have a sense of how she does outside, Mummy and Daddy brought us to a new Sam-welcomed place for a goood brunch.  Deciding where to go was easy. Mummy chose Anthesis as it was the pet-friendly venue for the Dec/Jan issue of the magazine.  Daddy parked along Kim Seng Road and we strolled over. Introducing Anthesis! Absolutely dog-friendly as we were even served a pink bowl with water to beat the heat. Sigh, pink really isn’t my colour. Suits Pecan more. My happy family!  (Daddy’s typical sian face as usual. haha) Service was quick and we got our food quickly. Mummy ordered a Tuna Tataki Sandwich (which she loves, but again, anything with avocado can’t go wrong for her).  Daddy ordered Eggs 3-way which is great for people who can’t quite decide how …

It’s treat time!

One other reason why we get along so fine, is that we are really respectful of each other’s space. Especially so when we are eating our own treats.  It normally starts with Mummy requesting a firm sit (Pecan always cheats!) from us. After meeting her low expectations, we will be rewarded with a chew treat each.  Then, we both scamper to our spots in the house! *pitter patter* Being the ‘senior’ (in terms of number of years in the household), of course I get the bigger bed. Pecan isn’t that much worse off as she settles for the most comfortable dog bed at home.  After which, we mind our own business and chew our own food. Being half my size, Pecan is also a slow eater. Even though we started at the same time, I was done in less than 10 minutes (I win!!) while she was only 10% done.  Zzzzzz So what I do after that? I eye on Pecan’s treat…. #Samthehawk Before being shoo-ed away by mummy. Boooo~ So smart little Sammy Loo …
