Architecture For Sam…

Mummy discovered a website, Architecture for Dogs and fell head over heels with the many pieces of functional (or not) furniture designed by world class architects and designers. This community of dog-lovers selflessly shares their stylish designs with the world by uploading their blueprints, together with instructional videos, to encourage canine lovers everywhere around the globe to get down and start building these pieces for their dogs at home! Even better is the fact that many of the designs are breed-specific, depending on the dog the designers owns. And with a stroke of luck, Torafu Architects designed for Jack Russell Terriers, like myself!  *Wriggly dance* Introducing the Wanmock! (Source: Architecture for Dogs) Here’s how the blueprint looks like. There are actually two ways to assemble a Wanmock and mummy chose the hassle-free option where all pieces are cut to precision and all that is needed during assembly is to slot them together. Yes, in case you are wondering, not a single nail was needed, let alone a drill!  (Source: Architecture for Dogs) Unfortunately for us, we …

Steak and Eggs Please?

We had an exciting weekend planned. However, looking out of the window immediately after waking up, I came to realise that was no way we weren’t gonna step outside at all (Toilet breaks aside). BOO to the haze. Disappointed, I lazed in bed sulking.  Mummy popped her head in and saw that I was really upset.  Hence, she did what awesome mummies do – she asked me what I wanted for breakfast! Sam: *Thinks hard* …. “STEAK & EGGS!” Mummy: “Ay ay Captain!”  Luckily for me, there were some frozen steak in the freezer! *Wriggly dance* Within minutes from my request, the cooked beef aroma filled the house and I swore I could not stop drooling.  This easy dish was done in less than ten minutes and my frown was at once transformed into a huge smile! “Pretty please.. can I start?” As soon as it began, there was almost nothing left and yes, I licked the bowl smacking clean once again. The yummy steak & eggs breakfast certainly drove the ‘haze blues’ out of …

Crafting duo strikes again – Paw Print Keepsake

Wtith the haze situation deteriorating, I was stuck indoors all day (Limited to quickie walks lasting no more than ten minutes, a far cry from my usual routine).  Besides too many games of fetch, there was nothing much to do. I was almost dying of boredom. So I approached Mummy and asked that the crafting duo do something fun.  Mummy: “What shall we do then?” Sam: “Let’s do something with.. my paw!” Coincidentally, mummy bought a Sculpey Keepsake Deluxe Pawprint Kit from Art Friend a couple of days ago! Time to put it into good use! The kit comes with clay, a ring (for the shape and size), a small rolling pin, a detail tool and a ribbon. The clay is only sufficient for one application, but mummy says that we could always get more clay from Art Friend. Let’s see how this goes before we decide if we are gonna do it once more. Let’s get the ball rolling! To minimize mess and to keep the project within my reach, mummy decided to do it on …

Made with Love – No Bake Coconut Treats

This is the dog version of the local tea-time snack Ondeh Ondeh! Actually, Mummy saw the recipe off Pretty Fluffy and felt that it reminded her too much of one of her favourite treats. Hence she decided to make it for me. Plus, the ingredients were pretty similar to that of the Anzac, so mummy didn’t have to buy any new stuff!  (Well, she did replace the coconut oil with the Olisana we already had and used desiccated coconut flakes instead of fresh finely shedded coconut.) As we didn’t have a food processor, mummy decided to use the food blender, with a pretty underwhelming outcome sadly.  It was difficult to blend/mix the oats and as a result, only those at the bottom were well combined. (Time to invest in a food processor!) With the limited successful mixture, she was only able to make SEVEN coconut treats! So precious! Posing with my best smile! Hoping to be able to eat them quicker! As usual, she just had to make me wait. Boo.  I finally flashed out my …

Made with Love – Anzac Biscuit Dog Treat

Inspired by this Anzac Biscuit Dog Treat recipe on Pretty Fluffy, mummy decided to make me some treats again! Hooray~ Oh, Anzac Day doesn’t mean anything to us, in fact, I have never heard about it till this.   Mummy just felt that this was a real easy treat to make, hence she chose to bake it for me! A quick wiki about it showed that it is a day to commemorate all Australians and New Zealanders who served and sacrificed their lives during wars, conflicts or peacekeeping operations. What a meaningful day! *Salute* But the truth is.. i’m just happy that there is homemade food for me.  Ha. Anyway, here’s our work-in-progress. The ingredients required and the steps needed are all mentioned on the link above.  Do check it out if you are interested! After a quick bake, the biscuits were ready! The fragrance of the coconut and apple filled the kitchen the moment mummy opened the oven and I swear I started drooling at that very moment. Unwillingly posing for the shoot. “I …

Made with Love – Mini Omelette for Sammy!

Another reason I love weekends – I get yummy made with love meals!  This week’s special was inspired by a recipe from Pawsh Magazine! It’s yummy mini Salmon Omelette! Ingredients needed are: – Two Eggs – A few slices of smoked Salmon – One small carrot and a floret of brocoli; finely chopped (The original recipe calls for green peppers, but mummy isn’t confident that I’ll be interested in that, hence she decided to replace that with other veggie choices that I kinda like.) This is yet another hassle free recipe that is really easy to make. Simply crack the eggs directly into a lightly greased (Mummy used olive oil) ramekin, before adding all the other ingredients and then mix everything together. Wala~ That’s it. (Though I have to admit that the mixture before stirring doesn’t exactly look appetizing.) Oh oh, mummy added a pinch of parsley just to give it a taste of herb. Once evenly mixed, just place the ramekin in the pre-heated oven and wait.  Impatiently wait… *Trembles* And after 15 minutes, …
