Why we are siblings…

We are not from the same litter.  In fact, we are six years and half a globe apart (I’m American-Born-Chinese-Dog while Pecan’s a true-blue Singaporean).  Yet, our sibling resemblance is so strong that there’s no denying that we are both from the Loo-Lim household. How? We bunny hop the same way! We bark the same way. Our ears (and tongues) fly the same way. We fetch the same way. (By fighting for the same toy..shhh) Last but not least.. we smile the same way. How can we not be siblings?!

Hard at work..

We absolutely adore the occasional few days that Mummy allows us to tag along to her office.  Each time we are there, we will certainly try to make ourselves useful. I’m a regular there and almost everyone in the office squeals in delight when they see me. How not to when I’m this cute. Sigh~ Pecan’s still kinda new but with her lovely human-friendly nature, she very quickly collected a fan base! (Mine still bigger la) Here’s what we do at work with Mummy! Play hide-and-seek! Thanks my mom-in-law for entertaining me. I heart Jager. Laze on people’s laps. Occasionally thanking them with a stinky fart or two, depending on what I ate the night before. The place where I’ve casted the most bombs had to be on Auntie JY’s desk. Hohoho And hiding in cupboards. As for Pecan, she still isn’t terribly comfortable with the office, hence, she pretty much just sits around either with Mummy or Auntie Lynne.  And when we are tired, we retreat to our makeshift respite corner for a snooze. …

Buckle up!

Mummy bought Pecan ah ma her very own Buddy Rider.  (Oh wait, Daddy just told me that he paid for it. Oops) And when it arrived, we got to try it out! The logistics behind getting the foldable bikes, the Buddy Riders and two adorable dogs safely to the east side of the country was unbelievably challenging.  My parents spent an hour in the morning pumping air into the bikes’ tyres (while me and ah ma chillax by the side). Ten minutes went to transporting the bikes down and another 20 figuring how to load everything into the car. We were so behind schedule by the time we started! After some unloading and assembling, we finally got buckled in!   I was all comfortable and ready to jet off.  Pecan was a tad bit uncertain and took a while getting used to it. Pecan still a little hesitant. After a quick pep talk from me, she was all excited to go! And off we went~ I followed Mummy while Daddy took Pecan.  The lovely breeze …

Chasing Waves…

We had a blast this weekend doing what we do best – chasing waves!!! My awesome parents brought us to East Coast Park for lunch, some beach-time and cycling! Pecan is a natural bikini ah ma!  The moment my parents dropped our leashes, off she went, crashing into waves (barking at them as well) and running along the shoreline! Of course, I cannot lose la and did exactly the same! After having some ‘shiok’ run-free time, we got into a game of tag!  First, I got to chase Pecan.  Aiya~ no kick and I caught her easily! Tag! You’re it! Too bad for Pecan, she wasn’t quite my opponent and just couldn’t catch up! Nay-nay-nay-boo-boo~ *Smug look*   We eventually grew tired of the game and decided to just enjoy the waves and the beach! It was the best thing ever. Except for one tiny winy complaint – the water tasted disgusting!! And ah ma was so mean when I tried to bitch about it. BOoo~ We were really disappointed that we had to leave …

Our weekends..

This is how a normal weekend goes… We wake up to awesome massages, compliments of Daddy. Used to be better, but with Pecan’s demands to be met, I’ve to say that the standard has fallen. Tsk tsk tsk. We put on our best begging face while Mummy enjoys her TV lunch. I surrender to the boss of the household to get on her good boots for the week. We get ferried off to somewhere exciting. To the swimming pool for our weekly swim to be exact. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee~ Reach home and crash. Wake up and have a quick playtime. Eat our dinner. Finish it quickly Then, put on our begging face AGAIN while our parents have theirs. Weekends are the best!

Tagged

Something came in the mail for us today!! Yes!  It’s…. dog tags!!!! Well, Mummy decided to create some tags from her favourite Dog Tag Art (it’s based in USA, but shipping here is a flat rate!) for us.  Actually, it was meant for Pecan, but I just hitched a ride and got some good out of it too! Ta-dah~ Haha, kinda obvious which belongs to who right? For ah-ma, Mummy chose existing designs that suited her personality! For me, Mummy decided to customise one using my very own portrait! Awesome isn’t it? The foxy ah-ma posing with her new tag. I’m showing off mine too!! Nice as they are, they ain’t the cheapest tags around. Hence, Mummy spent a little more money to invest in a protective rubber rim that helps prevent the tag from getting scratched around the edges. Best of all, the cushion also acts as a silencer. Hence, if you have multiple tags on your collar, you won’t be haunted by the chinking sound! Thoughtful huh!

The squirrel-hunting

I taught Pecan ah-ma how to hunt a squirrel and with our combined efforts… we did it!!!!!! Wahahaha… our catch of the day! As fun and as successful it was, it sure was exhausting! We were pooped by the end of it. But squirrel hunting really is the best job ever!!!!  Terriers FTW!

Our New Year Eve’s dinner!

New Year Eve is nothing without steamboat. And of course my parents had to take it up a notch and do it in style – the sukiyaki way! Looks great, but unfortunately, it’s extremely dog-unfriendly too. Boooo~ Thankfully, to continue the new tradition that she started during Christmas, Mummy wanted to cook us a meal that is similar to theirs. After some thought, she went ahead and bought these: Beef cubes, carrots, potatoes and beef stock. Wondering what she had in mind for us? We were extremely curious too! Yap, it’s homemade beef stew, the dog-friendly way! (PS: Mummy excluded celery and used two cups of beef stock with two cups of water instead.) Looks simple?  It is.  Except that it took a good two whole hours to prepare this! To make it thicker, Mummy removed the lid for the last 15 minutes of simmering. Cannot wait to chow away! In case you are wondering, we have to sit and wait for our food.  It’s part of our daily routine. It sucks, but it’s life. …
