My week @ the corporate apartment

As our actual apartment flooded, we were relocated to a corporate apartment in the building across the road while they fixed the floors. I was so excited about the apartment and fell in love with it immediately. Hee, as what my mummy would say, I was pretty much everywhere in the apartment. Well, that was my way of claiming what belongs to me. Anyway, here’s a quick walk-through of what I loved about the apartment.  One of my favorite things about this apartment was that it was on the 4th floor, giving me an excellent street view. I could hear and see my dog friends on their walks. Occasionally, I would bark back to confuse them. I absolutely love how frantic they were when they tried looking for me. Hee. The living room wasn’t as large as our actual apartment but the fabric couch was amazing! I would roll on, sleep on it and scratch my little paws all day long. Well, mummy on the other hand wasn’t exactly fond of it. After all, she was …

Ten Little Facts about Sammy – Number 6!

I have A LOT of sleeping spots. Being the only child/dog in the household, I’m entitled to be spoilt. And spoilt I am indeed. To make sure that I’m comfortable at home, Mummy bought me a couple too many ‘beds’. (No, I’m not kidding.) I shall introduce them to you one by one. Spot #1 – My little Petmate Kennel Cab crate.  This was the very first bed I owned. In fact, this is the crate that my parents picked me up in the very day they brought me home.  This is also the crate that I was confined to during the first year of my life (I was crate-trained). Sounds awful? Not exactly. This is Sammy’s little haven and I would retreat into it whenever I’m afraid (esp when mummy takes out the harness).  Though I have grown a fair bit, this crate still fits me comfortably and goes with us whenever we travel. It sits right beside mummy’s sleeping spot by the bed, makes me feel safe and contented every time I’m in …

Spring time..

Spring is my favorite season. While I’m a huge fan of the snow, the wicked cold is sometimes a little too unbearable. And mummy putting on a fleece jacket on me just makes it even worse.  Anyway, with Spring comes nice long walks to Central Park, possibly my favorite place on earth. Tons of green, squirrels and people who adore me.  What more could I ask for? Here’s one Sammy’s little best-kept secret: Mummy and I found a nice little spot in Central Park called the Ramble. It’s pretty much a wild garden and gives a sense of hiking in the woods. While dogs are not allowed off leash in that particular area, it doesn’t affect me a bit, since I’m horrid off leash anyway (yeah yeah, off I go) and mummy uses a retractable leash that gives me 5ft tons of freedom. The best part of the ramble is this little stream of water that runs through it. I love getting my little paws muddy wet there (certainly cools me down when it gets …

Sam’s (dog) family history

It has been two years (and 3 days) since I entered my (human) mummy & daddy’s life, and I’m loving every moment of it. I know mummy is too, but I can’t really say the same for daddy. Anyway, here’s a little  background information about my dog family (kinda of a updated version of my fact #1).  (FYI: Mummy got me from a breeder, MeadowBrook Terriers. That also explains the source of these beautiful photos!) Introducing my dog mummy – Fionnula. I think I’m a splitting image of her.  This is my dashing dog daddy – Guiness. While I don’t think we look alike, I think I did inherit his suaveness.  Here’s me when I was just 4 weeks old.  A close-up. Me at 6 weeks.  Me at 8 weeks. (Remember? This was the photo that sealed the deal, and my fate.) And, here I am today! Maybe not as cute, but certainly a handsome little dude.  It has been a good two years since I became a Lim member. There’s been ups and downs …

Sam, the chair model-er.

I am a chair model-er in training. Rather, I’m mummy’s personalized chair (dog) model-er. As some of you might know, mummy has a unhealthy  , crazy, erm, decent obsession with chairs and have been on a chair shopping spree recently (Yesh, daddy isn’t exactly too happy, but as usual, too bad for him). To document her purchases, she has requested that I model for her.  Hence, here are the end products.  Me on a Herman miller 1970’s upholstered chair that mummy bought from our photographer (more information on that in a month or so).  Me on Mummy’s handmade ottoman.  Me on a vintage 1960s – 1970s wooden desk chair that Mummy bought on etsy.  Me on yet another herman miller 1970s upholstered chair mummy bought from a consignment store in Ohio.  I guess I am a natural talent. Hee, maybe this could really be a career for me. Hm, something for me to ponder about I guess..

Rain rain go away…

I hate rainy days. Not because of the rain. But because of the hideous outfit/ raincoat that mummy forces me to wear… Yes. I look miserable.   Stuck with the windbreaker from Wagwear.  Save me… somebody! On a good note, this windbreaker is really effective in blocking the rain and keeping my belly clean of mud. No wonder stupid mummy loves it. -_-

Ten Little Facts about Sammy – Number 5!

I am certified AKC Canine Good Citizen! A letter came for me a couple of months ago.  And it contains my very first certificate.  And yap, that proves that I, Sam Forest Loo Lim, isn’t a monster after all. I am a GOOD CANINE.  *Beams* Despite that, I could still remember how hard mummy was laughing when the examiner commented that I had passed. Sigh, sucks that my parents have so little faith in me. -_-

Ten Little facts about Sammy – Number 4!

I’ve a little corner in the house that is just dedicated to me, me and only me!  Thanks to Mummy’s obsession with me, she has bought tons and tons of treats/food for me that they have pretty much taken up the whole window pane in the living room.  Hey, I’m not complaining…There’s always a running joke about how if there’s a catastrophe, Sammy would be the last man dog standing in the household as there would probably be enough food for me to last me for a year, (maybe 1.5years if I eat my humans). Anyway, here’s Sammy’s little corner!  And nope, you shall not have any of my treats. =P
